Z-Bot

Real Name: Christopher Johnson

Height/weight: 5’11”/205 lbs (257 after conversion)

Hobbies: Computer Gaming, Comic Book Collecting.

Chris was orphaned at an early age and grew up in foster care. Introverted, he spent much of his formative years reading comics and science fiction novels, and playing computer games. He was working as a computer programmer at the time he was murdered and then became Z-Bot.

He is currently married to Dr. Heather Logan, the head scientist of the Xi Force team.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Chill is a M/M romance story. But if you believe that Love is Love, and also believe that there’s magic in Christmas, then you will love this story.

Luke Sheffield demanded I write this book and I couldn’t say no to him. If you’re familiar with the Xi Force books, you might remember Luke as the Pike’s Ranger that was injured on the alien space craft in Triptych, and I consider this story very special. The book is a novella, and not in the regular series line. You should consider it Book 5.5 for reading order, after El Brujo.

We’ve been busy over the past few months doing updates to my website and moving my newsletter to a new service. We’ve also been rolling out new covers for my Xi Force books as well as updating their blurbs. (Don’t worry if you’ve already bought the books, the stories have not changed.)

Chill is a very special book for me. It’s my first M/M romance, and one I never planned to write, but Luke Sheffield’s story demanded a satisfying “happy ever after” and Chill gives you that in spades. And it’s a Christmas story.

Because it’s shorter (novella length) and a slight detour from the main series, I’ve made it a special edition rather than book 6 in the series. Chronologically, I consider this book 5.5.

Next Tuesday, (June 18th), is a day I’ve worked toward for months.

First off, it’s the release of the 2nd edition of Z-Bot. See my previous post on the re-release of the Xi Force series. All 4 books are up for pre-order right now, and are rolling out wide, which means they will be available at all popular ebook retailers, and in all ebook formats. If you haven’t read Xi Force yet, now’s a great time to join the team. There will be a new book in the series releasing every two weeks to help fill your summer reading needs.

But that’s not all…

Next Tuesday will also mark the release of The Butterfly Illusion. Yes, I’m finally finished with the edits, and have the book up for pre-order as well. This book will also be available wide on all ebook platforms, as well as available in both paperback and hardcover editions on Amazon.

I recently received the rights back on all 4 of my Xi Force books. As of June 1st, 2024, the books disappeared from Amazon. Yup, my award-winning Xi Force series is gone! It’s no longer for sale in Kindle or paperback format. (The audio books have always been mine and are still available – more on those later.)

But I was ready for that. Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on the second editions and just finished putting all 4 books up for presale. My wonderful wife created some beautiful new covers. Take a look:

Look for a new book ever two weeks, with Z-Bot releasing June 18, Phaze releasing on July 2nd, Wylde on July 16th, and Triptych on July 30th.

And even better, these ebooks will be releasing wide, which means that for the first time, you will be able to read Xi Force on Nook, Apple books, Google Books, Kobo, and all other popular ereaders. Paperback editions will also be available soon on Amazon.

The audio books have also been re-covered, and the new covers are rolling out right now, though it may take a while for them to show up on the order page. Still, the content hasn’t changed, and you will receive the same audio book no mater what cover it comes with.

And as to that, with the exception of a few corrections, these editions are the same books as the old editions, so there is no need to re-buy them…unless you want to.

January is a great time for looking back and looking ahead, and today I’d like to look back on my accomplishments last year.

2023 was a year of growth and change. Solidifying my 2 Destiny series into one coherent universe with the release of Destiny: Morning Star and Between Venus and Mars. I continued my experiment with Kindle Vella, putting out The Instrument of Treachery, the 4th Demon Gate Chronicles book one chapter at a time and eventually all together as one book, shoring up that series. I also wrote and published a prequel story, With You in Spirit, offered exclusively for my newsletter group. My Heavenly War Series and the Demon Gate Chronicles got new covers and were taken Wide, in all popular ebook formats. Then I finished out my year with a Christmas short story, Holy Night, that is available free to anyone off my web site.

I also participated in a number of book signing events and other promotions. Quite a busy year, all in all.

But I have a feeling 2024 will be even busier.

Just a quick update: Requiem for Poseidon will be going away.

I’ve come to the conclusion that people stop reading my Heavenly War series because the second book is just a short story. I see sales of Son of Thunder, and sales of Requiem for Poseidon, but nobody seems to be reading further in the series. I’ve concluded that, because Poseidon is just a short story, people might be feeling cheated, and not willing to take a chance on the rest of the series. I can’t really blame them.

So, very soon, I will be pulling Requiem for Poseidon from publication. I plan on making the ebook and audio book available for free to my Newsletter group. The paperback will go out of print.
