I was born in Stratford-upon-Avon (UK) in the early 70s. That’s the same town in which the great William Shakespeare was born, so maybe that bodes well? Due to my parents’ careers, I grew up in a variety of places around Worcestershire, completing my school education in the City of Worcester itself.

I have just finished reading 'Astronomicon: The Beginning' which I think I downloaded from Smashwords. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I now want to read the rest of the series. I searched the Kobo store for both Asronomicon and Paul Vincent, but the Astronomicon series is unavailable. It appears that Amazon has exclusive rights. Why have you allowed this?

I'm afraid I stopped using Smashwords years ago as it was too much work to get books past their filtering system and downloads there were very rare anyway. It took five days of tweaks and modifications to get book 1 through their filtering system and I don't have the time or patience to go through that again.

Almost all downloads of my books were happening on Amazon (Smashwords averaged less per year than Amazon did per week), so that's where I upload them now. Amazon doesn't have exclusive rights, as such. I just don't put them on any other systems. I've been hoping that my novels might become popular enough that I can quit my day job. Then I would have enough time to put them on Smashwords too.

Apart from writing, my main focus these days is trying to win an agent so I can one day write full-time.(less)
