Lucy Adkins is a writer of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Her poetry has been published in many journals and anthologies, and her chapbooks include ONE LIFE SHINING: ADDIE FINCH, FARMWIFE from Pudding House Press, and TWO-TONED DRESS, which was the winner of the 2019 Blue Light Press Poetry Prize. Her full-length collection of poetry, A CRAZY LITTLE THING, is forthcoming in the fall of 2021. Lucy’s fiction has appeared in the SOUTH DAKOTA REVIEW and VOICES FROM THE PLAINS anthology. She has also co-authored two books of non-fiction, The first, WRITING IN COMMUNITY: SAY GOODBYE TO WRITER;S BLOCK AND TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE was awarded an “Ippy” in the Independent Publisher’s Book Awards. Artists of all stripes, as well as those who don't necessarily consider themselves artists but want to deepen their creative lives. There is a deep hunger in people to express themselves creatively, and we wrote The FIRE INSIDE to address that hunger and serve as a companion for anyone on the creative path.(less)

The result was a five …moreThis year I took a trip to Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria, and on the last day of the trip tested positive for Covid. The result was a five day quarantine in a lovely hotel in Salzburg, Austria. I had a window which opened to fresh air and a quaint courtyard below, room service, and a new friendship which I made with the woman quarantined in the room next door. I had a Kindle reader and read three Lily King books, she a writer I admire so much. I read THE FATHER OF THE RAIN and WRITERS AND LOVERS, both fantastic reads I recommend highly.(less)
