Will AI Replace Essay Writing or Just Make It Easier?
Let’s be honest: writing essays isn’t everyone’s favorite thing. Maybe there are more preferable ways to spend your evening, but you still have to sit down and stare at a blank page. Of course, you must produce structured and insightful papers from time to time if you’re a student. Your writing must make sense, have clear argumentation, and sound smart, but sometimes writer’s block just doesn’t let you do it.
Today AI is changing the picture. But what is it? Is it really helping, or cheating, or replacing people? On one hand, you have AI tools that can generate a perfect essay in several seconds. On the other hand, teachers and professors are concerned about it, and some consider using AI to be inappropriate.
Is this the total end of the traditional approach to writing or is it just a new way and a new tool that helps us write better? Let’s dig deeper into this topic and try to analyze it from a human perspective. Is AI replacing essay writing or is it just making the process easier?
What is Essay Writing?Let’s take a closer look at the process of essay writing. It isn’t just about compiling meaningful sentences from words and letters. At its core, the process of essay writing is about thinking, analyzing, and researching. You need to read something first, understand it, and work on it. Then you form your opinion and add your unique perspective to the topic. After that, you have to explain what you think to someone else by writing it on paper, using your tone of voice.
So yes, essay writing is more of a skill that requires knowing how to research, analyze, and tell stories adding a bit of personality to the process. That’s why it’s so hard to fully automate the process of essay writing. You can teach AI to write a grammatically correct paragraph, but it definitely can’t replace a real author who can think.
How Can AI Make Essay Writing EasierWe’ll not pretend AI is the enemy of students because honestly, when you use it right, it can be a total game-changer and a useful tool. Here are the main benefits of using AI for essay writing:
1. Fighting writer’s blockYou know that awkward moment when you’re supposed to be writing, but your brain just isn’t working? It feels empty. AI can help you get through that. Even if it just gives you a few lines or a short outline to get started, it’s better than staring at a blank page.
2. Speeding up the boring processFormatting citations and checking grammar isn’t exactly the fun part of writing. Tools like Grammarly or AI assistants help students handle that in seconds, so they can focus on creativity and actual ideas.
3. Perfect draftingMaybe you’ve got all your ideas but can’t put them together. AI can help you turn rough drafts into something readable and structured. Think of it like having a writing assistant whose aim is to help you deal with chaos and mess.
4. Help for non-native speakersIf English isn’t your first language, this part is important. AI can level up your English and help you write meaningful and grammatically correct essays. It’s not about cheating, it’s about support.
So yeah, in a lot of ways, AI doesn’t replace the main part of essay writing, but it takes care of many technical processes and makes them much smoother.
The Risky Aspects of Using AI for Essay WritingThe main issue is that if we all just start generating essays and copy-pasting the papers without analyzing them, we’ll miss the whole point of essay writing, which is about thinking and forming your own opinion with an individual approach. Here are the main potential issues:
1. Sounding roboticAI can copy your tone of voice, but it doesn’t have its own and it definitely cannot think. Sure, it can generate a good structure, but it won’t enrich it with your experience or those tiny personal words that make the text sound like you.
2. Lazy thinkingWriting helps you figure out your thoughts, make arguments, and question things. That’s super important when it comes to developing critical thinking. If AI does the job, your mental ‘muscles’ won’t get trained, they might even shrink.
3. AI is not always rightLet’s be real: AI makes a lot of mistakes. And if you don’t fact-check what it says, you’re taking a risk. It can make up sources, get facts wrong, and write stuff that sounds convincing but has nothing to do with reality. If you don’t double-check everything, it’s a lottery.
4. Ethics and originalityIf your teacher assigns you to write an essay and you submit something written entirely by ChatGPT or another AI writing tool like WriteMyEssay.ai, that doesn’t mean you “used a tool for help,” in fact – that’s cheating. So depending on your school’s policy, that could lead to serious problems.
Is There a Compromise?AI isn’t some evil force trying to take your place, and of course, you’re not a bad student just because you want some help. The key is maintaining the right approach to using AI tools. There are healthy, ethical ways to use it:
brainstorming ideas;structuring your thoughts;overcoming writer’s block;getting help with editing, grammar, and paraphrasing. But if you skip the thinking part entirely and try to delegate it to the machine, you’re not adding your voice and not informing readers about what you think.
The thing is that the best essays always have something AI can’t replicate, which is human curiosity and genuine interest in the topic.
What Teachers Are Worried AboutLet’s talk for a moment about the teacher’s side of all this. Teachers aren’t just being dramatic, they have a point, because their job is to help students grow in terms of developing critical thinking. That process includes overcoming writing challenges, learning how to build arguments, rewriting, getting feedback, and maybe rewriting again. It’s tough, but it’s essential. When AI comes in and produces a final version in a few seconds, it skips learning and growth. That’s the part teachers aren’t okay with.
But here’s the interesting part: many educators aren’t totally against AI. Some of them are even encouraging students to use it but do it responsibly. They want to see AI used as part of a learning process that helps students grow. It’s important to think of AI as a tool, not a replacement. If you shift the focus from “just write an essay” to “show me how you came up with your ideas,” if you create more drafts using AI for support, if you open discussions instead of hiding your process,
then it’s not about replacing you as an author. It’s about using an interesting, powerful instrument to analyze better, think better, and maybe even write better.
The Future of Essay Writing with AIMaybe it’s not about AI replacing essay writing, but about developing it and taking it to another level. We can look at it through the lens of the advantages AI tools bring to students. For a broader perspective, see AI in education and its responsible use.
You can spend more time analyzing and questioning rather than formatting, editing, and proofreading. Essays can even become more interactive, maybe multimedia. AI can be like a writing partner, not a replacement for human writers.
So, it means that the future of essays is all about transformation, that doesn’t sound like a big problem.
AfterallAI isn’t going anywhere. It’s here to stay, and we need to face that. You can’t put this time back but you also don’t need to panic or rely on AI blindly. What you need is to learn how to work with it effectively and make it a natural part of your life.
Think about AI as a new tool you need to explore. It can help you optimize many processes but you’re still in charge, and you’re still responsible for the whole thing. It doesn’t mean AI will replace essay writing completely. But if you’re thoughtful, curious, and a real author, AI might just help you become a better writer. Good luck!

EssayPro Review 2025: Low Quality AI Generated Essays
These days, finding companies that offer a range of academic help services to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students isn’t difficult—the difficult part is finding a provider that will deliver quality work on time and for a fair price.
Enter EssayPro.com, a company that’s relatively well-known both inside and outside the academic assistance industry. If you didn’t know anything about this company and you saw its ratings on Reviews.io and Sitejabber, you’d probably think this provider is an industry leader.
But is this actually the case? We wanted to know conclusively, so we thoroughly tested this service over a three-month period.
To put it briefly, there are better essay writing services in 2025, and we recommend using any of them before you give your hard-earned money to an EssayPro “expert.”
We’re not going to go as far as to call EssayPro a scam site; rather, we think it could benefit from making a range of improvements.
Below, we detail our experience and offer insights that are sure to be helpful to any student who’s looking to get the most bang for their buck when using a paper writing company.
Key TakeawaysEssayPro offers a wide range of in-demand services, but its work quality leaves much to be desired. Moreover, they use AI. Also, customer support could be much better. We believe this company’s shortcomings are due to its team being made up of mostly individuals who don’t speak English as their first language.Granted, pricing is relatively low here, but what good are low prices if the work you’re paying for is generated with ChatGPT?Reviewing EssayPro.comServices OfferedWhen it comes to services being offered, EssayPro.com isn’t all that different from other sites. Term and research papers, essays, basic and complex homework, case studies, dissertations, capstone projects, literature reviews, and book reports—this company claims it can help with these assignments and many more.
Who does this site cater to? Mainly undergraduates, though high school and graduate students won’t be turned away.
What’s missing? Neither resume nor cover letter writing services are offered, which is unfortunate because demand for such services is always high.
Granted, their absence isn’t uncommon; a lot of sites, even the best ones, don’t offer resume or cover letter assistance.
Our problem in this area concerns writer availability. Offering dozens of services is one thing; being able to deliver them, especially when there’s a lot of demand, is what counts.
When we wanted a sample dissertation completed, we were told shortly after submitting the order that no writers were available. We asked when this would change and never got a response.
This wasn’t a glaring red flag, as the order was placed a month or so before finals season; perhaps other services would’ve given us the same answer.
However, shortly after this, we submitted an order for a homework assignment related to computer science. Again, we were told nobody was available!
Fortunately, this didn’t happen every time we placed an order, but it happened enough to be worth mentioning here.
What’s our takeaway? If you need an assignment completed ASAP, relying on this provider may not yield the results you’re looking for, even if it’s short and basic.
ProcessEssayPro’s process differs from those of other companies, and there are flaws that should be addressed right away.
The first step, registering and providing order information, is pretty straightforward. To sign up, you need to provide an email and come up with a password.
After you’re registered, you’ll be prompted to submit assignment details. Set a deadline, select a language and academic level, choose a writing style (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.), and provide any materials that’ll be helpful to the writer.
At the bottom of the assignment details form, there’s a box for additional notes. We recommend putting the most important information here, as it may be missed otherwise—something we learned the hard way.
Next is the writer selection process, and this is where substantial improvements must be made.
First, there’s no filter system. Obviously, we wanted five-star writers every time, so having to constantly scroll over four-, three-, and two-star writers was frustrating. Also, why keep on writers who are only rated two or three stars?
We also found the green ‘online’ circle to be especially unreliable. One time, we messaged 6 writers, all of whom were allegedly online, and none got back to us within the hour.
Also, writers are allowed to bid for your work, which means getting flooded with bids of unqualified or poorly rated writers isn’t an uncommon experience.
If we were running this company, we’d get rid of the bidding system, as it just complicates the writer selection process. The customer should be able to browse available talent seamlessly. When they find a potential match, they should have no problem connecting with this person.
Other sites do it this way, and we’ve never seen reviews or testimonials that suggest this method doesn’t work.
The final stage, getting your paper and paying, is more or less fine. One nice thing is that you don’t have to pay up front. You’re afforded a certain number of edits with your order, but requesting them may be challenging.
For whatever reason, the writers tend to become unresponsive after a first draft is submitted, and needless to say, it shouldn’t be this way. If you have a deadline coming up, a delay in the editing process just won’t do.
This is another common occurrence that must be addressed immediately. Otherwise, the company will develop a reputation, and rightfully so, of being unable to deliver on its guarantee of free and timely revisions.
Quality of workNow it’s time to address work quality—by far the most important factor to consider when you’re looking for an essay writing company.
To get a feel for EssayPro’s work quality, we ordered five assignments. Of these, none met our standards, which was disappointing, to say the least. Let’s explain what happened with each of our orders.
The first assignment we ordered was a six-page, Shakespeare-related research paper intended for a high school English class. It was delivered three days before the deadline, which at first we thought was impressive; later, we agreed it was rushed.
First off, the writing was too sophisticated. Also, our detailed instructions weren’t followed. Even the citations were incorrect! The paper received a C-; we were expecting at least a B+.
The second assignment, a case study for a behavioral psychology class, was fantastic. But then we checked it GPTZero and it showed us 100% AI plagiarism.
The third assignment was a literature review that focused on famous novels of the Victorian Era. This was for a graduate-level literature class, so we were disappointed when we discovered that GPTZero showed us 100% AI plagiarism. The writers obviosly don’t bother to slightly rewrite essays.
Our next order was a problem-solving homework sheet for a computer science class. It was pretty simple, yet the “expert” got 4 out of 10 questions wrong; it was as if someone who didn’t know anything about computer science completed it.
The final assignment was an essay on America’s political system. It had some good ideas, but the structure left much to be desired. Also, it didn’t have any citations, which surprised us because we explicitly stated that proper citations were important. This, too, got a C-.
Based on these results, we can confidently say EssayPro’s writers should stop using AI tools for creating essays and overall their work quality needs significant improvement. Other companies, such as EssayWriter.pro, perform much better, and they do so consistently.
Nobody pays for essay help expecting to get a C-. If a writer can’t deliver A-level work time and time again, they should be let go.
All that’s to say, if work that utterly stuns your professor, in a good way, is what you’re after, it’s best to steer clear of EssayPro—for now!
PricesPricing at EssayPro is for the most part comparable with what other companies charge, and customers can take advantage avail discounts of 10%-30% if an order is large enough.
One page (~300 words) for an undergraduate course costs about $12. Naturally, the total cost of an order is determined by a range of factors, including the number of pages, deadline, academic level, subject, and extras.
Obviously, if you need an assignment turned around within 24 hours and it’s difficult, expect to pay top dollar.
Also, this company claims to stand by its money-back guarantee, but we didn’t have a chance to see if this is really so.
Sure, you may not have to pay an arm and a leg for the work, but there’s no way of guaranteeing you get a paper of the highest quality. To us, that’s a problem—a big problem! After all, most students are willing to pay a little more if doing so ensures a good grade.
Also, if a due date is fast approaching and the work you receive turns out to be subpar, you won’t have time to go back and forth with customer support. This is a major problem too, as refund requests must be made within a certain amount of time after order delivery.
Our verdict: If the quality of the work doesn’t improve, even spending $5-$6 per page won’t be worth it.
Customer ServiceThe quality of customer service often distinguishes good companies from exceptional ones. And if customer support is inadequate, your experience may be unnecessarily stressful.
We utilized EssayPro’s customer service department five times during our testing period. Unfortunately, most of the agents we matched with took a long time to answer, and some never responded to our questions—even the important ones!
Fortunately, we never needed an order refunded; it’s unclear how this would’ve turned out.
One time—and this was especially unbelievable—a support agent was rude to us and insisted we were wasting their time by asking questions. We have never experienced anything like this before and hope we never will again.
Also, communicating with your writer could be better. It’s almost like the writers aren’t required to respond promptly, and this doesn’t make much sense. Even on basic assignments, good writer-customer communication is essential.
In the end, it’s one thing for work quality to be inconsistent; bad customer support, on the other hand, is inexcusable. We hope EssayPro addresses this soon.
Testimonials and ReviewsBelow are some reviews that largely speak to the experience we had with this site:
“I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of service provided by Essaypro.com. My experience has left me feeling disappointed and let down.
The service I received did not meet my expectations and the promises made by the provider turned out to be empty. It is discouraging to trust a platform and receive substandard outcomes. This experience not only wasted my time but also caused unnecessary stress in my academic journey.
I advise caution to those considering Essaypro and recommend exploring alternatives. Academic support should ease stress, not increase it, but unfortunately, my experience with Essaypro did the opposite.” – EssayScam
And another from the same review site:
Closing Thoughts“I recently used EssayPro for my assignment, and I’m quite disappointed. The quality of the work didn’t meet my expectations, and the content felt rushed. For the price I paid, I expected much better service. Will not be using them again.”- EssayScam
As we approach the conclusion of this review, we feel it’s important to explain why we tested EssayPro.
We’re acutely aware that there are many scammers and subpar providers in the academic assistance industry, and our goal is to help students, particularly those who’ve never used a paper writing service before, avoid wasting money on sites that don’t keep their promises.
We don’t think EssayPro is a 100% scam site. But sending AI generated essays is not a good practice.
Our three-month test confirmed much of the criticism that’s been levied against EssayPro online, so it’s our conviction that, at least for now, students should steer clear of this site.
Until the company’s work quality and customer support improve, we can’t recommend it to those who need help with an essay or any other kind of assignment.

How to Maximize Space in a Tiny Dorm Room
It’s not a secret that dorm rooms often provide a very compact living space. That means that living in a dorm requires adjusting to various limits and compromises. However, with creative planning and organization, you can make the most out of your dorm room. With the following advice, you will be able to transform even the smallest space into a functional and comfortable home. This guide will provide practical tips and tricks on how to maximize space and improve your dorm room living.
Declutter and Prioritize EssentialsThe first step to maximize your space is to declutter. By reducing the number of things you own and avoiding making unplanned purchases, you can improve the quality of your life in a dorm room, including making the most out of the space you have. When packing for moving into your dorm, ask yourself, “Do I really need this?” Avoid overpacking and consider a minimalistic approach when it comes to multiple items of the same type. For example, you don’t need multiple headphones, backpacks, etc. Pick the best item you have and the most suitable for its purpose – helping you and serving your needs.
Pro tip: pack seasonallyInstead of bringing your entire wardrobe, you can pack what you need for the current season. By rotating items during holiday breaks you can save precious closet space.
Use Vertical Space EffectivelyThe dorm room floor space is limited and often shared between two roommates. Which makes it even harder to comfortably organize all your belongings. However, there is also vertical space, which is actually your best friend while living in a dorm. Invest in storage solutions that utilize walls and doors, for example:
Over-the-door organizers: you can buy organizers to hang on the hook to store shoes, toiletries, and accessories.Floating shelves: perfect for books, plants, decor, and various necessities.Command hooks: to avoid damaging walls, you can use command hooks to hang backpacks, jackets, decor, etc.Pro tip: loft your bedIf your dorm rules allow you to loft your bed and use the space beneath it as an area for a desk, storage bin, or seating space, take your chance. This will instantly double your usable space and will also give you an opportunity to get additional furniture items.
Invest in Multifunctional FurnitureMultifunctional furniture can save you a lot of space and maximize storage options. Look for items that can do double duty:
Foldable desks that are great for study sessions but can be tucked away when not needed.Ottomans with hidden storage.Foldable chairs.Pro tip: use under-bed storageTake advantage of the space under bed to store bins, vacuum-sealed bags with items, extra bedding, or seasonal clothing.
Create Zones for Different ActivitiesEven in a small room, you can create dedicated places and distinct zones. Be sure to use these spaces for dedicated activities without mixing them up. For example, studying in your bed might be a bad idea as it is a zone meant for comfort and relaxation. Use furniture placement and lighting to define areas.
Pro tip: utilize desk organizersWhen your desk is clutter-free, you can stay focused and keep your studying more functional. Use trays, holders, and organizers to keep everything in its place and avoid making a mess.
Maximize Closet SpaceClosets in dorms are known to be very small, but you don’t need to give up. There are a few ways to optimize your closet space:
Use slim hangers. Replace your bulky hangers with slim ones made of metal or plastic to fit more clothes.Hanging shelves. Add a few extra compartments by using shelves that you hang on the rail.Double rods. Use a road extender to hang twice the amount of closing.Pro tip: store of season items elsewhereIf you have access to storage space, keep off-season closing or items in there. You can share a storage unit with your friends to reduce expenses.
Keep It Clean and TidyFor a small space, being organized and tidy is even more important than for a bigger one. When it gets messy, you can feel overwhelmed pretty quickly. Make a habit of tidying up regularly and implement simple practices like making your bed daily, putting laundry away, or decluttering your desk.
Pro tip: use a cleaning scheduleCreate a weekly cleaning schedule with your roommate to keep the dorm room tidy. By sharing responsibility, you ensure that the room is organized without tension and arguments.
Add Mirrors for DepthMirrors can officially make a small room appear larger by creating an illusion. Hang a full-length mirror on the back of your door and add a smaller one to the wall. This will add more light and reflect space.
Pro tip: combine mirrors and lightingPair mirrors with good lighting to brighten up your dorm room. Buy a few LED string lights and a desk lamp to make a few levels of room lighting. This will make the room feel more cozy, especially in the evening.
Utilize Shared SpacesIf your dorm has common spaces, such as a shared kitchen or a lounge, use these rooms to your advantage. If you are allowed, you can store larger belongings, such as kitchen appliances, in them.
Pro tip: coordinate with your roommateCollaborate with your roommate to avoid bringing the same items. For example, you don’t need two coffee makers. Decide who brings what and share bigger items to save space.
Final ThoughtsMaximizing space in a tiny dining room requires creativity, organization, and, of course, planning. By implementing these tips, you can turn a small room into a cozy home. Remember to prioritize dorm essentials to avoid unnecessary objects, utilize vertical storage solutions, and keep your space tidy. We hope that these tips will help you out.

Setting New Year’s Goals During Christmas Break
The end of the year is a magical time when you enjoy your well-deserved rest after a busy semester. Many college students get that much-needed pause and a chance to recharge and restore before diving back into academic life. However, it’s also a perfect opportunity to reflect on your past year and set goals for the new one.
Setting new year’s goals during winter break is a way to enter this year with purpose and a clear plan. Use your chance and the slower pace of the holiday season to craft goals that align with your personal, academic, and professional aspirations. Here is how you can do that.
Reflect on the Past YearBefore you can set new goals, take your time to reflect on the highs and lows of the past year. By reflecting, you can understand what is working for you and what can be changed for you to grow. Ask yourself the following questions:
What is my biggest accomplishment of the year? What was the hardest part of this semester for me?Are there habits and behaviors that I need to change or leave behind in the past year? How did I grow professionally, personally, and academically?Write down your thoughts and journal your challenges and successes to note any patterns you can learn from. This process will give you valuable insights and understanding of how to approach the upcoming year.
Focus on SMART GoalsThe most effective way to set new goals is to stick to a SMART technique, which stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. This technique will allow you to avoid vague resolutions but rather set specific goals that you can break down into actionable steps. For example:
Specific: I want to increase my GPA by half a point by the end of the semesterMeasurable: I will study for at least three hours every weekdayAchievable: I will focus on improving my performance in these two specific subjectsRelevant: I want to improve my GPA because it aligns with my goal of applying for an internshipTime-bound: I will achieve all these goals by the end of the next semesterSMART goals provide a roadmap and clear plan for tracking progress and achieving them.
Set Goals in Key Areas of Your LifeYour new year goals should apply to all aspects of your life, not just academics. As a college student, you probably juggle a lot of responsibilities, so consider setting goals in the following areas:
Academic goals:To improve GPATo develop a deeper understanding of a subjectTo develop better study habitsTo secure an internshipTo complete a project or thesisPersonal development goals:To read one book per monthTo learn a new skill or languageHealth goals:To exercise three times a weekTo prioritize sleep and aim for eight hours per nightTo cook healthy mealsFinancial goals:To save a specific amount of moneyTo create a monthly budgetTo find a job or side hustleBy setting goals in different areas, you can create a well-rounded plan for growth in all areas of your life.
Break Down Your Goals Into Actionable StepsSetting big goals is great, but it might seem a little vague or too far away in the future. In order to achieve bigger goals, it’s important to learn how to break them into smaller and more manageable steps. For example, in order to get a new job, you need to update your résumé and LinkedIn profile, research job opportunities, pick a few companies that you like the most, write cover letters for each application, apply, and go through interviews. It’s also important to set deadlines for each step in order to be more proactive and avoid procrastination.
Use Tools and ResourcesIn order to become more organized and track your progress during the following year, you can use tools and resources such as:
Planners and journals: Keeping a physical planner or journal can help you understand your emotions and organize your plans and goals.Digital apps: Apps like Notion or Trello will help you organize your goals, set reminders, and track your daily progress on academic and non-academic tasks.Habit trackers: Habit tracking apps or lists will allow you to monitor progress on your existing habits or new ones that you want to incorporate into your daily routine.Celebrate Small VictoriesAchieving your goals might take a lot of time. However, in order to stay motivated during this journey, you need to address and celebrate small milestones along the way. For example:
You can treat yourself to a favorite meal after you complete a taskTake a day off to relax and rechargeShare your progress with people you loveYour progress reminds you of the effort you put in and the bigger goal in the future, thus making it easier to stay motivated.
Plan for Possible ChallengesEvery goal comes with potential difficulties and obstacles. It’s necessary to plan for possible challenges and avoid being off guard when you face them.
Think of things that might prevent you from achieving your goals and how you can overcome these obstacles. Also, look for resources and strategies that will help you stay on track.
Stay FlexiblePlanning is good, but being flexible when something isn’t going as planned is also very important. Don’t be afraid to adjust when circumstances evolve and change. If your goal is no longer as relevant or achievable as it used to be at the beginning of the year, revisit your priorities and shift your focus towards new goals.
For example, if you suddenly get an opportunity to study abroad, you should take it if it feels right, even if it was not planned beforehand.
Start NowBe sure to start working on your plan and your goals during Christmas break instead of waiting for January 1st. This will provide you with more time to reevaluate and reflect, as well as research resources and workshops related to your goals. Begin implementing new healthy habits without waiting for the start of a week, month, or year.
ConclusionChristmas break is a great time to relax and set yourself up for success. By thinking and reflecting on the past year, you can improve yourself and become a better version professionally, academically, and personally. Planning ahead is a great way to keep yourself motivated and remind yourself of bigger goals that you set for yourself in the future. Remember to stay flexible and celebrate your progress without being too harsh on yourself. With effort and determination, you can make your dreams come true.

Does GPA Really Matter After College?
Many college students are obsessing over their GPA. They spend sleepless nights with textbooks, rewrite their notes, and calculate grades after every exam. This race can be daunting and exhausting. But after graduation, the job hunting begins, and the question arises: does GPA really matter? The answer depends on your career path, industry, and individual goals. This blog post will explore the role of grade point average post-college and whether it is worth all the struggles.
The Case for GPA: When It Matters
The importance of GPA certainly diminishes over time. It might seem like a big deal during college years and the early stages of your career, but in the world of jobs and everyday life, the significant role of GPA slowly fades. But why do we work so hard to make the most out of our GPA? And should we do that? Here are some scenarios where your GPA may hold considerable weight:
Graduate school applications. If you’re planning to pursue advanced degrees, like a master’s, PhD, law school, or medical school, your GPA might be a key factor for admission committees. In this case, your GPA will be viewed as a baseline measure of your academic abilities and dedication, though it might not be an accurate representation at all.Entry-level jobs in competitive fields. Some industries, such as finance, consulting, and engineering, consider GPA when hiring recent graduates with limited work experience. A high GPA in these industries signals that you have the discipline and skills needed to work under pressure.Internships and scholarships. During college and right after graduation, a solid GPA can help you get the internship of your dreams or qualify for particular scholarship programs. These opportunities often have GPA requirements to pick the most valuable candidates for gaining experience or financial support.Licensure and accreditation. Certain professions in accounting and healthcare view GPA as a baseline for exams and credentials. Some programs may require a minimum GPA to proceed in the licensing process.
When GPA Starts to Lose Its Significance
A high GPA can open doors early on, but its importance fades as you progress in your career, and here is why:
Employers value experience over numbers. The majority of employers prioritize skills, achievements, and performance over academic metrics. A good project portfolio, leadership experience, or a good job record in your industry will outweigh even the highest GPA.Soft skills are critical. While having a great GPA speaks about your diligence and hard work, it might not be enough to thrive in a professional environment. Many jobs require skills like communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork to climb the career ladder.Networking over GPA. Connections can often matter more than grades when it comes to securing jobs. If you build a rich professional network, you can create more job opportunities for yourself than just having a higher GPA.Industries Where GPA Matters Less or Not at AllSome career paths don’t put as much emphasis on GPA but value practical experience, creativity, and specific technical skills. For example:
Creative fields. If you are pursuing a career in graphic design, writing, filmmaking, or music production, your portfolio is what truly matters, not your GPA.Entrepreneurship. If you dream of starting your own business, GPA is not a factor. Investors, partners, and customers will not care about your college achievements but your ability to generate results instead.Trades and technical jobs. Roles like plumbing, welding, or software development prioritize hands-on experience and certification, which will definitely overshadow traditional GPA concerns.Sales and customer-focused roles. In sales, success is measured by your ability to meet requirements, close deals, and have product knowledge. The chances are slim that someone will judge you by your GPA.What to Do if Your GPA Isn’t Great
If your GPA is less and perfect, it’s not the end of the world, and you can always showcase your other strengths to create a good impression:
Highlight your strengths. Emphasize relevant internships, coursework, and projects. You can also consider listing your major GPA instead of cumulative GPA if you excelled in specific areas and major-related courses.Focus on skills. Bring to the table technical skills, certification languages, and practical experience that are directly applicable to the job.Build a strong network. Attend career fairs, alumni gatherings, and professional organizations’ events to build your network and open doors that GPA cannot.Craft a great story. If you are asked about your GPA during an interview, you can always shift focus toward your learning experience and what you gained from challenging situations during your college years. What Really Matters After College
Your success depends on the combination of factors that stand far beyond just GPA. Here are a few elements that carry more weight in the long run:
Passion and drive. Many employers and specialists are drawn to individuals who are passionate about their work and are willing to put in extra effort. Demonstrating enthusiasm and strong work will help you achieve your career goals even if your academic metrics are not that impressive.Lifelong learning. In a constantly changing world, the ability to learn and adapt is invaluable. Be curious and committed to self-improvement to impress your employers and increase your value.Real-world impact. The things you achieve, create, or improve better speak about your abilities in the real world. If you are making a positive impact on your team or contributing to the company’s accomplishments, it will help you better than your grades.Reputation and relationships. The way you treat others and how you collaborate is critical to your professional reputation. That’s why building relationships with colleagues, clients, and employers will bring you long-term success. Conclusion
It’s important to remember that GPA is just a chapter, not the whole story. In some cases, it surely can serve as a stepping stone to early career opportunities. However, as you move forward in your career, its importance diminishes in favor of experience, skills, and personal qualities.
Instead of fixating solely on GPA, work to be an adaptable and meaningful individual who can contribute value to your field.

Optimize Your Nutrition for Better Energy and MoodA balanced diet, rich in vitamins, minerals, and various nutrients, is the foundation of great mood and energy levels during winter months. As your body needs adjustments to diet when seasons change, you might try the following:
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. You surely know that fruits and vegetables are very high in vitamins and antioxidants that help you reduce inflammation and boost your immune system. That’s why eating more oranges and other citrus fruits, root vegetables, and dark leafy greens is important.Add Omega-3. Healthy fatty acids found in foods like salmon, flaxseeds, and nuts are known to support brain health and good energy levels. They also help with hair and nail growth, so it’s important to keep your omega-3 levels high.Limit sugar and processed foods. Sweet drinks and snacks can be very tasty but damaging to your health. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day to regulate your body’s internal clock. Be sure to stick to the schedule during the weekend too.Establish a relaxing nighttime routine. Implement calming activities like reading, stretching, or journaling to signal to your body that it’s time to go to bed.Mind your caffeine and alcohol intake. Consuming too much alcohol or caffeine can damage your health and your sleep patterns. Drinking more than one cup of coffee daily can make falling asleep much harder.Stay Connected with Friends and FamilySocializing can become a great mood booster during winter when loneliness and winter blues catch you.
Set regular meet-ups. Plan regular Zoom calls with your family or casual meetings at a coffee shop with your friends. Having these on your calendar will be a great thing to look forward to.Engage in group activities. Activities like clubs and social events on your campus can be a nice way to make new friends and build a supportive network. If you like social connections, be sure to engage in such activities that your college might hold.Reach out when you need support. Sometimes, you just need to ask for help, and it’s essential never to be ashamed of it. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your friends, family members, counselors, or the essay writing team. This will help you fight the feeling of sadness and isolation as well as make college years easier.Practice Mindfulness and Stress ManagementWinter blues can be overwhelming and influence your everyday stress levels. Various practices can help you stay grounded and manage negative thoughts.
Try meditation. Meditation can help you calm down, improve focus, clear your mind, and reduce symptoms of anxiety. You can use meditation apps or YouTube tutorials to start meditating each day.Journaling. Writing down your thoughts and feelings is a very powerful therapeutic practice. It helps you better understand your emotions and creates a buffer between you and your worries.Focus on gratitude. Practice gratitude to increase happiness with what you have. It can be tempting to look at others and compare them to you. However, practicing gratitude for what you have and what you have achieved is a powerful tool.Establish a Routine and Stick to ItIf you want to fight the winter blues, you need to stick to routines. Setting a daily routine can create a sense of stability, purpose, and predictability.
Create a morning ritual. As we were talking about evening rituals, creating a morning one is also important. A morning ritual will set the right mood for the day and help you get through the chores.Stick to schedule. Structure study hours and downtime to avoid burnout. Be sure to take breaks and set specific times for work and relaxation.Set weekly goals. Small weekly goals will help you stay motivated and give you a sense of accomplishment.Final ThoughtsWinter blues are real, but you don’t need to be hard on yourself when they come. By adopting these healthy habits, you can make a difference and have a perfect winter by beating winter blues.

How to Maintain Healthy Relationship With Roommate
It can be exciting to share a living space with friends and new people for the first time in your life. However, it can also be challenging to navigate habits and expectations when it comes to reality. A healthy relationship with your roommate will surely make the college experience much more enjoyable, while a poor one can lead to discomfort and stress. That’s why it’s crucial to learn how to build a relationship with the person who you live with. It’s not about friendship but rather healthy communication and boundaries that will serve both of you. The following blog post will tell you more about how to maintain and balance relationships for harmonious college living.
Setting Clear Expectations From the StartAny successful relationship starts with communication. When it comes to roommate relationships, the same rule applies. It’s the beginning of your time together. It’s essential to have an open conversation about your habits, routines, and preferences, as well as topics like:
Study schedules: you might have two completely different schedules and rhythms. Some students are owls, while others might prefer to wake up early. Talk about the time when you both plan to study or sleep.Cleanliness: Establish expectations about how clean you want your room to be. Remember that people come from different circles and traditions, so they might have different cleanliness expectations and norms. What you find gross or untidy might be a completely normal situation for another person. Agreeing on chores and responsibility areas can prevent misunderstandings in the future.Guests and visitors: Talk about how often you expect guests to be present in your room. Both of you should establish boundaries on when it’s okay to have people around and when it should be avoided.Quiet hours: Studying and sleeping require a calm and noise-free environment. That’s why creating agreed-upon quiet hours can ensure that both of you are respectful of each other’s needs.Sharing items: Discuss whether it’s okay to share gadgets, food, clothing, etc.By clearly outlining what you expect and what you are used to, you can both find a compromise.
Communication Is the KeyAs said earlier, it’s essential to maintain healthy communication throughout the school year. Be honest and respectful when resolving issues before they escalate into your problems.
Be direct but respectful: If your roommate is doing something wrong that bothers you, address the issue calmly and respectfully. it’s better to address all the issues early on as problems tend to pile up and lead to a fight. Start with “I feel” statements and avoid blaming a person. For example, “I feel distracted when you have guests coming around while I’m studying.”Pick the right time to talk: Don’t start the conversation if both of you are not calm or in the middle of the task. It’s better to talk when you are relaxed and can listen to each other.Listen actively: Good communication involves being able to listen and understand another person. Make sure to listen to your roommate’s point of view without interrupting or being defensive.Check-in regularly: You might need to schedule roommate meetings or go back to the points made from the start to ensure that both of you stay on the same page. These conversations don’t have to be formal but rather friendly and lighthearted.Having regular discussions ensures that every issue is addressed correctly and you don’t hold grudges against each other.
Respect Each Other’s Privacy and SpaceLiving in the same room with another person doesn’t mean that you should not respect privacy and space. It also doesn’t mean that you have to be in each other’s company all the time. We all need privacy and alone time, and not having it can cause tension.
Respect boundaries: Knock on the door before you enter the room. Oftentimes, this simple rule is ignored, which can be a huge problem. Even if you’re close friends, it’s important to allow each other to have some privacy without unexpected interruptions.Be mindful of personal items: If you borrow something, always ask before doing it. Being friends doesn’t mean that you don’t need permission.Limit your use of shared spaces: Spending too much time on the phone or monopolizing common areas is not okay. Even if you’re working on a long project, it’s better to find a place where you can study for longer hours without bothering your roommate. Both of you respect each other for privacy and personal space. It’s much easier to avoid a potential conflict.
Addressing Conflicts in a Healthy WayEven if you and your roommate get along, conflicts might arise. The key is not to avoid the conflict but to learn how to address it in the right way.
Stay calm and don’t take things personally: It’s okay to disagree with someone, but remember that conflicts are about resolving issues, not about attacking each other.Focus on the issue, not the person: Address the conflict and specific behavior that bothers you, but don’t criticize your roommate as a person. Instead of saying, “You are so messy,” say, “I feel uncomfortable when the room isn’t clean.”Compromise and be flexible: Living with another person often means meeting in the middle. Sometimes, it takes small sacrifices, but flexibility shows maturity and helps maintain balance.By addressing conflict with empathy and at the right moment, you can prevent them from snowballing into larger issues.
Balancing Friendship and Roommate ResponsibilitiesIn many cases, roommates are friends who know each other before they enter college. However, it may even make the situation harder. Being friends doesn’t necessarily make you good roommates, and conflicts might happen even more frequently
Separate friendship from roommate issues: The line between friendship and living together is quite blurry. However, it’s essential to treat your roommate-related issues as problems that can be resolved through negotiations. Avoid attacking and insulting your roommate personally. Knowing each other for years doesn’t give you such a right.Set time for friendship: Living together doesn’t mean that your friendship will be maintained automatically. Make time to hang out outside your place and be just as you were before.Don’t take advantage of your friendship: being friends doesn’t mean you should take advantage of things like space, belongings, or time. Respect each other boundaries just as much as you put with a roommate you don’t know well.Balancing friendship and roommate responsibilities takes effort, but it can be rewarding and result in an exciting living experience.
Sharing ResponsibilitiesDivision of responsibilities might be the most significant source of conflict between roommates. Whether it’s cleaning plans or handling shared spaces, you need a transparent system for handling responsibilities.
Create a chore schedule: Set up a shared calendar or a checklist with divided responsibilities between you two. Make sure that the tasks are evenly distributed and alternate from time to time.Be financially transparent: If you share bills, it’s important to be both responsible for paying them on time. You might need a budget plan to spread your income with prioritization to pay bills first. Also, always be sure to inform your roommate if you have any financial difficulties before the problem becomes a bigger issue.Sharing responsibilities and holding each other accountable helps create a balanced and organized environment.
ConclusionLiving with a roommate sometimes is more about pure luck. However, it’s always important to remember that a healthy relationship requires work on both sides. By putting in the effort and being open to conversation, you can make this experience one of the most rewarding in your college life.

The Role of Social Media in College Depression
The digital age came with a lot of inventions and new norms. One of them is social media being an essential part of our daily lives, especially among college students. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter offer a convenient way to stay connected and share experiences. It’s great, isn’t it? However, there also is a darker side to social media. The latest research shows that mental health among young people declines while heavy social media use rises, and there is a connection. This blog post will examine the impact of social media on depression among college students and ways to manage digital use to improve your mental health.
The Prevalence of Social MediaHigh school and college students are among the most active social media users. Nearly 90% of young adults aged 18 to 29 use at least one social media platform regularly. For many students, it is an essential part of their daily lives as well as a means of communication. It is also the primary source of information and entertainment. Many of us need an easy hit of dopamine during the stress and pressure of our daily tasks. Social media platforms allow us to distract ourselves and get well-needed entertainment. However, it only seems like a proper break from routine – while these platforms have numerous benefits, they also pose significant risks, particularly concerning mental health.
The Link Between Social Media and DepressionSeveral studies have found a connection between social media use and depression. For example, a study in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that limiting social media usage to 30 minutes a day can significantly improve mental health. By avoiding the overuse of social media, the participants were able to reduce feelings of loneliness and depression.
But why does social media contribute to these negative mental health outcomes? Here are a few reasons:
Comparison culture. One of the main contributors to depression is the culture of comparison. It’s hard to avoid this culture when using platforms like Instagram or TikTok, where you see people excelling in the academic, social, and financial spheres of life. College is the time when you define your identity and start to pursue your goals. Thus, you may be more affected by the constant exposure to the highlights of other people’s lives which shifts your perspective of the world. It may seem like you are not as successful, lucky, or happy as others portray themselves. It can lead to feelings of low self-esteem, jealousy, and belief that you have fallen short in comparison to others. This is what is often called a social comparison, and it can be particularly harmful to people who already struggle with their self-identity and self-worth.Fear of missing out. This fear is another significant issue that you might face. When entering social media, you are bombarded with posts about vibrant social life: parties, events, and networking opportunities. It is widespread among college students – posts like these portray college life as full of exciting events rather than challenging studies. When you see your peers posting about this, it can create anxiety and a sense of exclusion. Even if you are proactive in your social life, the constant reminder of what others have can lead to second-guessing.Cyberbullying and online harassment. Undoubtedly, social media should foster positive connections. But nowadays, it also opens the door to cyberbullying and online harassment. As many college students use a few online platforms simultaneously, the risk of encountering such interactions online is high. Cyberbullying takes many forms and can be damaging to self-esteem and emotional well-being. Social media provides anonymity, which, for some individuals, gives a green light to be more aggressive and hurtful when commenting. The victims of cyberbullying face the impact on their mental health, which can be severe, leading to feelings of depression and anxiety.Sleep deprivation. Many young people are now more dependent on social media and their devices than on anything else. That’s why it’s common for college students to stay awake late at night, scrolling social media. The impact of blue light and bad sleeping patterns can have a damaging effect on the quality and quantity of sleep which is crucial for mental health. Poor sleep links to a range of mental health issues. When you add stressful days to the mixture, you end up with feelings of sadness, irritability, and fatigue, which contribute to depression.Information overload. Social media platforms are designed to keep you engaged, providing you with lots of different information. You can be constantly bombarded with news, updates, and various entertaining content. Surely, being informed is important, but the unstoppable stream of information can be overwhelming. The stress of academic life and the knowledge that you gain throughout your classes are hard enough for your brain. So, gaining more information from social media is not a proper way to take a break, as it makes you feel more tired. The Impact of Social Media and Academic PerformanceSocial media contributes to struggles with concentration, motivation, and energy levels. All these things negatively impact the ability to succeed academically. Social media also makes you procrastinate more, as it is pretty easy to lose track of time when scrolling through social media. It’s important to understand that social media contributes to depression, which creates a need to get more dopamine, which in turn also pulls you back to using social media more. This is a loop that is hard to omit.
Managing Social Media UseWhile people might know about the negative impacts of social media on mental health, it’s almost unrealistic to expect a person to completely disconnect from all the platforms at once. Social media is deeply integrated into modern life and provides many valuable benefits. That’s why it’s better to manage social media use and limit it than not use it at all. Here are a few things that you can do to improve your mental health and manage social media use.
Set time limits. Setting time limits is the most effective way to manage social media use. Almost every phone has a built-in feature that allows you to track and limit screen time. You can also use third-party apps to reduce social media usage to a specific amount of time each day.Curate your fees. Remember that the feed is meant to serve you – not vice versa. Take a proactive approach and unfollow or mute accounts that trigger negative emotions to make your feed more positive, inspiring, educating, and uplifting.Engage mindfully. Being conscious of how and why you’re using these platforms is what makes it a mindful approach. Ask yourself what you hope to gain from the experience, whether you want to have a break and relax or to connect, entertain yourself, etc. Mindlessly scrolling might be a habit, but when you find yourself doing that, be sure to close the app and put the phone aside for a while.Take digital detoxes. Regular digital detoxes, when you can take a break from social media for a set period, are very beneficial for your mental health. It could be a day or a weekend that you spend without using social media platforms at all. Once you do it, you will see that you reset your mental state and reduce stress more efficiently.ConclusionThe relationship between social media and depression is complex but yet very real. While social media can be useful and help you connect and inspire, it can also contribute to feelings like anxiety and depression. By understanding the potentially harmful consequences and risks, you can protect your mental health while still engaging with the digital world. The most important here is to find the balance that will help you use social media in a way that enhances your life experience.
