Lots of people are asking for a book version, so it could be that one day we'll publish it. But if that happens, it won't be for quite awhile. Sorry! I do hope you enjoy the entries as they come up each Saturday. Have a great day!(less)

I'm so glad you're finding our thesaurus helpful. Which one is it, btw? I'm always curious to know which ones people respond to the best :).

We have discussed the possibility of writing a thesaurus on careers/jobs and it's something we haven't ruled out yet. It's very possible that we could highlight this one at our blog in the future. Usually, we do a test run the blog, and if the response is big enough, we publish it, so I don't know if it would be be turned into a book or not.

I don't know if you're familiar with our blog; we have 10 thesaurus collections there (http://writershelpingwriters.net/thes...), some of which have been turned into books (emotions, character traits, and settings). You can also find all of our thesauruses in enhanced form (including more individual content and more entries) at One Stop For Writers, which is like an online library containing our entire collection plus lots of other resources writers may find useful (https://www.onestopforwriters.com).

I hope this answers your question and maybe turns you on to some more thesauruses and other tools that could come in handy. Thanks for the suggestion, and best of luck with your writing!(less)

Coping Mechanism Thesaurus: Intellectualization

When a character suffers emotional pain, the brains response is to stop the discomfort, and often this results in a coping mechanism being deployed. Whether it’s an automatic response or a learned go-to strategy, a mechanism helps them cope with the stress of the moment or escape the hurt of it.

But if the character develops an unhealthy reliance on that mechanism, problems will arise. Long-
