I freely admit that if it wasn’t for the wonder of computers and word processing, I may never have finished my first novel. All though I am hardly a Ludite, I thought that typing was the limit of my use of technology.
Now I’m in the cutting edge business of eBook publishing, I’ve begun to learn many new skills. One was to write a blog on my website. This morning, however, I’ve gone one step further and synced my blog with my auther’s page on the excellent Goodreads website. All this before breakfast as well.
So welcome all you Goodreads friends and fans to my blog. If, on the other hand, you are reading this on my website, my I recommend you pop over and check out Goodreads. Goodreads is probably the best Internet book club I’ve come across. If you’re into reading any genre, you will find like minded friends at Goodreads.
Love & peace,
Z

I’ve learned a lot about marketing, and the need for publicity, this year. It may be harder to sell a novel than to write it.
Sometimes I get a pleasant surprise. Today, for instance, I got one of those spam emails from amazon, the sort I get every day. Today’s was special, today the email was advertising fantasy romance books for the summer, and there at the top of the list, you know it, was MetaMagik. I’ve already had I couple of sales from people I can safely assume also got the email.
So I’d like to say thank you to amazon, and thank you to all my loyal readers who have been givin my novel so much good word of mouth.

My valuable readers
Zero reading at the book launch
I sometimes have to pinch myself to check if I am dreaming. The reception for MetaMagik has been incredible, and one which vindicates the long solitary hours it took to write. Over the time it took to write a novel, my faith in what I’m writing was somewhat tidal. By the time I had finished, I knew I liked what I had written, but I still had no idea if anyone else would.
Any doubts I may have had about how MetaMagik would be received have proved profoundly unfounded. Thanks to the enthusiastic fans of my book putting glowing reviews on Amazon.co.uk, MetaMagik is the 4th best reviewed title in the contemporary fantasy category on the Kindle (out of over 4450 titles), and the number one best reviewed metaphysical and counter culture eBook.
To know how much my readers value my work is a gift. Hopefully all this enthusiasm will help with sales, and help to attract assistance to get a print edition of MetaMagik onto the shelves. Marketing a book, I am discovering, is at least as hard as writing one, but knowing that there are enthusiastic readers for my work, makes all the effort worth while. Thank you all, and to those who are asking for more, be patient and your wishes will be satisfied.

We Have Take-off
A big and sincere thank you to everyone who made it to the launch party for my new novel. I hope you had as good a time as I did, although I was having such a great time that hardly seems possible. I was truly touched by all the complimentary things people said to me, and the genuine enthusiasm with which MetaMagik has been received. You have made those many solitary hours spent writing my novel worthwhile.
It is said that the fans of a book are its best sales team, and so far that is proving to be true. So if you have read MetaMagik and enjoyed it, would you please be so kind as to enthuse about it to all your friends, family, and acquaintances. I would also encourage you to join your fellow MetaMagik fans in putting a review of the eBook on its page at amazon.co.uk (or amazon.com, for fans in the U.S.A).
So far the launch of my first novel has been a dream come true, and that is because of you, my friends and readers. Please check this website in the future for regular updates on how MetaMagik is doing, and news of new novels to come.
Mojo, mojo,
Zero
