Moving Off of Amazon
Some of you may or may not know that Amazon has recently sent out a notice to authors telling them that books purchased from the Kindle store will be scanned and scraped by Ai. They indicate that this will be for “navigation” purposes, but also so readers can “chat with” Ai versions of characters from stories, or discuss the novel with an Ai assistant.
Because of this, as of January 19, 2026, I will be removing all my writing from Amazon stores.
I will still be offering my novels for online purchase through companies like Barnes & Nobles, Kobo, Apple Books, Smashwords, and more.
If you want to see a full list of my available stories, please visit my book archive page. I will be working hard over the next month to move all my products off of Amazon. This does affect my pre-order releases (like Alpha Playtoy: Summer), since I will be cancelling this release on Amazon. If you are someone who has been effected by this, please reach out, and I will do my best to get you a copy via another ebook website.
The change in Amazon’s policies are quite distressing to me, especially since 70% of my book sales are currently through Amazon.
I am a small indie writer, and I don’t make much money from my novels (truly under $100 a month), and limiting my marketing reach will impact my sales greatly. Sadly, Amazon has not given authors a choice to opt out of this “feature”, and I am not comfortable with my work being used to train Ai in any capacity.
Many writers have already had their novels scanned unwillingly, or straight up stolen by companies to train Ai. Even going as far as to “write original” stories using said stolen material. All without the author’s consent. I am not in support of Ai, and never will be. I make my books from scratch, make my own covers with stock images and a lot of editing, and only allow humans to edit my writing.
I have had countless friends who have lost graphic design jobs, illustration jobs, and copywriting jobs, all of which were terminated because of Ai "replacing" them. The threat of any artist's livelihood being stolen from them is very real, but beyond Ai making it difficult to afford a living, it also feels like a spit in the face to me.
Art (writing, drawing, and so on) is a human pursuit. The whole point of working a job and getting paid is so we, as humans, can have more time or ability to pursue our passions. Ai being used to "create art" is fundamentally flawed. Maybe it could be used as a tool in the future, but only if the artists that are used to "train" the Ai are doing so willingly.
So, no matter how difficult it is, or how much time it takes to write a story, I will never replace the intrinsic human right to create art with a robot. That is my stance, even if it's going to make my life much more difficult. I just wish Ai wasn't being forced upon us, and artists could choose whether they want to participate in "Ai features."
If other authors feel differently, I will condone their actions, but the real issue here is that many authors do not have a choice. We either agree to Amazon’s policies, or get off the platform.
If you enjoy my stories, please support me on these other platforms. I truly appreciate every last one of you.
I love writing, and I want to continue sharing my stories with my wonderful audience. Thank you for your support.
XOXO,
Monique Morgan

New Contemporary Queer Romance Story
Long time no update!
I wanted to share that I've been working on another book as of late, and I'm sitting pretty at about 42,000 words. My new novel, "Three Below," is a contemporary queer romance set in a wintery British Columbia. I know it's out of season, but I'm not crazy about the heat, so writing about the cold, Christmasy vibes has helped me get through the hotter days.
Here's the synopsis I have in the works.
"" Rylan has taken his two gay best friends to his family’s cabin for a getaway, knowing full well that they’ll be snowed in. He wants Wes and Colt to start dating, but little does he know that both men are infatuated with him—but Rylan isn’t gay! Or so he says….
It doesn't help that Colt and Wes seem to despise one another, so now it's a race against the clock to see who can seduce Rylan first. What's the worst thing that can happen?
A short and sweet evening affair, this contemporary tale with an MMM twist is perfect for spicy romance fans. It's about the journey, not the destination, and boy, oh boy, is there a volcanic trail awaiting Rylan and his suitors. ""
The story is close to being finished, and one of my newsletter subscribers is even getting it for free! I did a fun poll on my newsletter last month asking which story I should write next, and one of those lucky voters is going to receive the book free of charge.
I want to run more of these giveaways in the future, so if you'd like to participate, please sign up for my newsletter. https://oh-moni-mor.mailerpage.io/
Drop me a line if you want to know more about "Three Below" or any of my other stories. I love hearing from readers, so your questions and comments are welcome!

It's almost over!
I'm so close to finishing the Risque Fae Series! The final book in the 6-part series releases on April 18, 2025, this Friday!
Risque Fae was my first attempt at writing erotic romance and releasing it in a public capacity, and it was the first time I self-published, too. I'm far from being an expert, but I learned a lot and I'm excited to launch my new series.
"All the King's Men" is a short, episodic series set in a Medieval fantasy. Think... King Author's Court but with the fixings of some raunchy and campy erotica moments. This is my first full erotica series (rather than erotic romance), and I'm finding it to be a fun challenge.
The first book in the series is "Worshipping Westen" and you can find a sample of the cover on my main page. I originally planned for the book to be around 6,000 words, but it's 10,000+! I'm still releasing it at $2.99 because my words got away from me, but I hope you'll give it a gander.
The book releases on April 30th, 2025, and you can pre-order it now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F3LRGVWJ
Here's a synopsis:
A smoking hot medieval fantasy set in the majestic kingdom of Perineia. Each story is a thrilling tumble between the sheets with Simeon of Emberhelm, the King’s Candour, and one of his many bedfellows. As the King’s Candour, Simeon has a very special job within the King’s lands, one that requires a lot of hands-on work. It’s a unique role, and Simeon ensures that all the King’s men are well taken care of, guaranteeing they’ll know exactly how to bend the knee when they're called to serve.
The Candour’s charge in Worshipping Westen is the loyal Head of the Knights’ Watch, and one of King Faramond’s tenured warriors. Work has been weighing heavily on Westen as of late, and the King has arranged for Simeon to help him unwind. Simeon is more than happy to bruise his knees and open wide for the knight, so long as the noble gentleman doesn’t forget about Simeon’s release. He has dozens of techniques he can lean on to get them there, and with Sir Westen, praise, a vulgar show, and a “yes, Daddy” is the ticket. Simeon even insists on taking the lead so Westen can finally sit back and relax, guiding the salt-and-pepper knight toward a glorious end.
What do you think? Love to hear your thoughts. Hope you're looking forward to Risque Fae: Last Delicacy launching this week!
Until then, XOXO,
Monique

Newsletter and Free Short Stories
I've been focusing heavily on my writing lately and haven't gotten a chance to update people on what's going on in my life.
Book 5 of Risqué Fae will be dropping on March 8, which means there is only one book to go before the series wraps up! But I'm not saying goodbye to Del, Titus, and Venture forever, I simply can't. I will be writing some short stories about these three during different times of their lives and relationships, both pre-series and post series. I'll also be releasing some exclusive "deleted scenes" that didn't fit into the overall story, but can stand alone as little "snippets" into their lives.
Actually, I've already written two! Which brings my to my next point.
I have a Newsletter! https://subscribepage.io/MoniqueMorgan
I share free stories and book release dates on my Newsletter, so come join! I'll also be answering questions monthly in the newsletter (and even doing writing requests if there is a particular scene or setup you're itching to read). If you haven't subscribed yet, please consider joining!
I absolutely hate it when newsletters spam me, so I wouldn't dream of doing that to you. At most, readers will receive 1 newsletter a week, and each letter will include free, on-sale exclusives, or important info about book releases, both for myself and for fellow writers in the Romantasy or LGBTQIA+ genres.
Now, back to writing....

Self Publishing Blues
I love writing, and I love sharing my writing with people, but I've been feeling some of those self-publishing blues lately.
When you work by yourself, the only person you have to encourage you is yourself, and without outside encouragement, I feel my motivation dry up. I want people to tell me their thoughts about my story--good or bad, but I don't know how to get people to engage with it. I'm not a marketing genius, and there is only so much those self-taught internet schools can do. So far, I'm doing everything I'm supposed to, but I haven't hit my "lucky break" yet and gotten eyes on my books.
I released volume 2 of Risqué Fae today, and I've only seen 3 purchases so far. It's better than none, but my reach isn't going as far as I would like. I'm sort of stuck now, since I'm uncertain if I should carry on and write more of the story, or if I need to change things up.
I also finished writing volume 3 today, and it's off being edited, so I've reached a lull in my writing schedule.
I won't let the imposture syndrome get to me just yet, but here's hoping I'll see some progress on the sales front! I've had a rough week (a rough 6 months, actually), and I'd love to have a win.
Onward and upward!

Releasing a book is stressful!
At the risk of yelling into the void, I wanted to chat about how stressful releasing a book is! Don't get me wrong, it's rewarding too, and I'm so excited to share more stories with everyone, but it's nail-bitingly stressful as I wait for those first reviews to roll in. So much so, that I can’t even think of another word either than “stressful” (my thesaurus brain is mad about that).
Either way, I’m super excited to see the number of downloads tick upwards, I’m just eager to hear what people think.
The second book in my Risqué Fae series is already locked and loaded for release on December 18, and I’m currently working on the 3rd book: Nectar & Spice.
I’d love to hear from some readers (whether you’ve just started reading or you’ve only read the synopsis).
Thank you for the support!
