I was born in North Yorkshire, and the local area is the setting for my award-winning e-book "Chronicles of Mark Johnson."

In early 1963, we moved to the Bristol area, and I have lived here since then.

My latest book is called The Awakening, the story is about a young scientist who is contacted by the spirit of her dad friend to help fight terrorism in India. The story mixes romance, religion, and science fiction.

My big success is the sci-fi series https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co..... This seven-book series has sold over 1,000 e-books during its lifespan of a decade.

Alan Place From reader Keith Parish in the USA:
Alan, as for me, I *very much* enjoyed one of your ebook . I only have two regrets. First is that I only just now was sent across your path in this life, and second is that I don't know how Jehoiakim's story ends. Rats!! I most certainly did *not* want it to end.
I so very much like his character, what he is trying to do and his struggle to fully understand and embrace what his mission is. It is a good story, Alan and a good start to what I would be willing to bet is still in your head as to what you would really *like* to write about his adventures, his loves, and his nation's struggle to survive (*again*) against all odds. One more thing before I close.

You don't need to worry that you "won't make a difference now" because you already have. You gave me a pleasant couple of hours yesterday as I followed Kim from his office through Milan, to Tel Aviv, and finally Eilat. I could picture the mystery woman (she is beautiful) and feel the grit of the sand on the beach. You have inspired me to find a great story and then, just . . .

The book in question is Aliyah.

Alan Place Dear Alan, I have just finished reading The Chronicles of Mark Johnson from cover to cover (you are an excellent storyteller and I didn't want to put it down once I had started). From Julia Petrakis in New York

This review is from: Nerja (Kindle Edition)
This was an excellent short-short story. In fact, I finished reading it during my commute home on the subway.

The best way to describe this story is: It is a story about faith.

It involves two different men from two different cultures. One White and one Native American/Cree. Both were placed in an extremely dangerous situation and both depended on their faith to bring them out safely.

This wonderfully short story answered the question: "Who do you call on and cling to in the time of trouble?" I expected more, but "Nerja" was so skillfully written additional words would've ruined it.

Short and to the point, this was an excellent and highly recommended read.
