Vivien Jacob

Born
The United Kingdom

Vivien Jacob is an award-winning author from Suffolk, UK. Her historical fiction, dystopian and fantasy stories have been praised for their vibrant settings, compelling characterisations and satirical wit. In 2024 she began her series of Jane Austen variations, exploring and expanding on the lesser-loved characters in the original works.

Her novels sometimes involve neurodivergent characters, or those with mental illness or physical disabilities - conditions which she feels are under-represented in contemporary fiction.

“Ridiculous men were not a threat. They could be underestimated, and then they could triumph. The early worm strangling the bird came to mind.”
Vivien Jacob, Blink: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

“Darcy’s jaw dropped. He had never been scolded by Jane before, and felt as if he had been savaged by a feather duster.”
Vivien Jacob, Blink: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

“How very kind of you. It must have been a great discomfort for you to have your ear pressed to the keyholes in my house for so long. I am glad that your prying has finally borne fruit, Miss Bingley. Congratulations!” his voice dripped with sarcasm, “Now, madam, kindly leave me alone to reflect upon my triumph in peace.”
