From the Ashes is out!

20 years in the making, my alternate history novel is finally out. Sales are good so far, but no reviews. I hope anyone who reads the book and has any kind of reaction--good or bad--will take a moment to post a review, start a discussion, send me an e-mail or...well, you get the idea :)From the Ashes: An Alternate History Novel of WWII

My Next Novel--Cover Blurb

So here’s the official description of the new book (also what will appear on the Amazon page and the back cover of the paperback version):

Two generations after Germany won World War II, a lonely college student named Adolf Goebbels wanders into a dusty museum and discovers books and artifacts of a dead race called “Jews”. Although a member of the Nazi elite, Adolf resents the oppression, fear, and isolation that are part of daily life in the Aryan “paradise” his grandparents helped build.

As he reads the forgotten books, and meets the outcasts who gather at the museum, Adolf discovers a purpose he has long been searching for—and danger he has never imagined.

Based on the real-life Nazi plans to create a series of museums of dead races, this sprawling alternate history novel takes the reader from decadent Berlin, the capital of the Nazi world empire, across the conquered nations of Europe to uncover the startling secrets at the heart of the worldwide Reich.

FROM THE ASHES will be released this summer–hopefully June rather than August. Look for more info in the coming weeks.

Welcome to 2015

Happy New Year, Everyone!

As we ring in 2015, the big news is that Keepers of the Ancient Wisdom will be available in paperback in about a week. Meanwhile, my heartfelt thanks to nearly 200 people who have already bought Keepers in Kindle format.

Remember all you who have now finished Kalie’s Journey: I need to know who wants a new series (or at least a stand-alone book) about Otera and the founding of the Amazons. This would probably also involve Kalie and Riyik’s daughter, Melora as well as a few others from the Kalie universe.

Look for upcoming posts about my next novel, From the Ashes, a big departure from prehistoric fiction. From the Ashes is alternative history, set in a world where Nazi Germany won WWII.

Best wishes in the new year!

Happy Aniversary Kalie's Journey!

Three years ago today, my first novel, Daughter of the Goddess Lands was published. It's been a long, exciting journey. And so it's very fitting that the final book in that series, Keepers of the Ancient Wisdom, will be released next week.

Many thanks to all my readers, and I hope this last book resolves everything to your satisfaction--and leaves you wanting more :)

Because I still have so much more to write.

The Mystery of Sales

First, I want to thank everyone who's ever bought (and especially read) any of my books.

Second, I invite anyone reading this to help me understand how sales work. I've just had my highest sales month in over a year--and I want to know why. I think it has something to do with "Oathbreaker's Daughter", the novella I released last month.

I'm just not sure how.

Are new readers buying the novella, then moving on to reading the two novels set in the same universe?

Are dedicated readers simply eager for more of the same, while they wait for the next novel?

Is it the phase of the moon? A recovering economy?

If anyone knows, please share your insights. And if you've enjoyed any of my books, please post a comment or a review so I can know that, too.

Thanks!

A New Piece of "Kalie's Journey

"Oathbreaker's Daughter", a 16,000 word novella set in the universe of Kalie's Journey, will be released in e-format at the end of this month.

Description:

Malana, daughter of a nomad chief, finds herself caught up in a deadly dispute between her father and a neighboring chief. When Malana is dishonored as revenge for her father oathbreaking, she knows that only death can restore her honor. But fate intervenes, offering Malana a new life, full of possibilities she had never imagined. And when her new life is threatened by the old one, Malana discovers that she must act to save, not only herself, but her new world.

This stand-alone novella, a companion to Kallie's Journey, is a thank you to my loyal readers and something to tide them over until the release of the third book, Keepers of the Ancient Wisdom, which is planned for late 2014. It's also a great introduction for fans of prehistoric fiction to the world of the Horsemen and the Goddess Lands.

Bonus Material: Included with this 53 page novella is an excerpt from Keepers of the Ancient Wisdom, Book Three of Kalie’s Journey.

Living With a Writer

http://emzbox.wordpress.com/2013/12/2...

My friend Emerian Rich is doing a wonderful series on what it's like for the friends, spouses, parents or children of writers.

Here's what my husband Tom had to say about sharing life and writing space with me :)

News in the New Year

My first New Year resolution is to post more blogs, so I'm starting now!

Later this month, I plan to have a new novella, set in the Kalie's Journey universe, for sale on Amazon for just 99 cents.

The title is not set, but the story centers on a nomad woman exiled from one of the horse tribes, and is told from her point of view.

I hope everyone who enjoyed Daughter of the Goddess Lands, and all the other stories in the series, will love this one as well.

Happy New Year one and all!
