Tony Parker Jersey

One gets the overall feeling that this team is missing something. The most obvious experimental play was the disastrous interception running back Matt Forte threw out of the wildcat formation.Which Baltimore Raven scares the crap out of me? Maybe memories of his two-interception performance in the 2008 AFC wild-card game still linger, because even at age 32 and injury-laden, Ed Reed still scares the crap out of me.The rest of the Browns team? Well, not so much. “I actually thought that when I stopped wearing a Bobcats uniform I’d be done with basketball.

Mama Blogs Tired

Melissa Uhles, friend and writer, spins great stories about what it's like to be a mom and a blogger. I'm gathering from her various posts that some days are better than others. It's hard to be a mother to a three year old, while typing. Just wait until Henry is able to read. He will be like, "Mom, I sooooo did not say that." Or, "Geez mom, why did you dress me in those pants." Right now he's just her cute little monster.

Processed Food Encased in Plastic

1000 small cuts
Three years ago I visited an artist friend in Taos, New Mexico. In her living room, hung a collage like painting that drew in the naked eye from a distance. I asked my friend if she was responsible for the found art, turned into a painting before me. “Oh no,” she said. “That’s Graham’s. He’s such great artist.”

Job Interview Trends

There have been a few changes since my return. The biggest one so far is that I have been hired by three different employers completely over the phone. I secured three different jobs without having to leave my house or change out of my pajamas. I did brush my teeth before each interview, for good luck, but other than that my appearance never changed from rolling out of bed to answering the telephone.

Apple - Sued for Price Fixing

Books.JPG

Apple Inc. has been in the news lately and it’s not because of a new product launch, but rather for ebook price fixing. The lawsuit, filed by the United States Department of Justice, claims Apple colluded with five major publishers (Penguin, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, HarperCollins, and Hachette) to corner the market on ebook prices. Basically, just like Apple controls its iTunes store, it also wants to control what the consumer pays for an ebook through the use of an agency model.

Mops in the Air

I'm sure, like me, you've never thought about mops, other than in an utilatarian way. My friend Mary Anne, however, seems to have become obsessed with them. She's sees them everywhere and has started a blog to document the frilly haired stick people. In China (my favorite phrase), there seems to be an overabundance of used mops taking up space in the usual and not to usual places.

Mama Tired

Love is in the air.

A fellow writer and good friend, Melissa Uhles, featured my novel, Reaching Prague, on her amazing blog titled, Mama Tired. This blog chronicles her adventures with motherhood in an altogether too busy world. Melissa Uhles and I met way back in college when we both wanted to be actresses and explore the world on a dime.

A Totally Impractical Guide to Living in Shanghai - FREE EBOOK

I had the honor of being a guest blogger on A Totally Impractical Guide to Living in Shanghai. The blog is hosted by exceptionally talented Mary Anne Oxendale, who originally hails from Canada. She's traveled to more locales than Santa Claus. She also collects pictures of mops in strange places. I swear it's going to be a great coffee book someday.

Stupid Foreigner - Renting an Apartment in Shanghai

Shanghai Apartment

I was finishing getting ready for work, when the downstairs buzzer went off in our apartment. I glanced quizzically at Cristian, who only shrugged. I answered in my practiced Shanghainese wayyyyy for hello. I usually tricked the McDonald's delivery man into thinking I was local. I got a big kick out of this. The person responded with a quick burst of Mandarin. I repeated what I heard to Cristian. My fledgling Mandarin is only good for counting change and ordering more water.

"I think he said food delivery."
