Joseph Moukarzel is a Lebanese author born in a land of contrasts. Growing up in a country marked by struggle, he began traveling early in pursuit of knowledge, studying engineering and wine commerce across Lebanon, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

One night, back in his home country—its streets in darkness without electricity, inflation soaring, and uprisings in the air—Joseph began writing out of a hunger for a better world. His debut novel, The Travelers, journeys through realms both real and imagined, exploring the timeless conflict between good and evil.

A science enthusiast at heart, and a follower of truth, he weaves intricate scientific ideas into his narratives, blending them seamlessly with philosophical inquiry and esoteric them

“Relax, my dear,” she whispered. “If you wish to thrive here, you must be open to new ideas.” She drew his hand into her lap, guiding it beneath her gown. The heat and wetness that met his touch masked the smell of blood.”

“You’ll start to feel dizzy,” he warned, “lighter, funnier... But any more, and the spirits will take over your mind. Better a small flame to keep warm than a roaring one that burns the house down.”
Joseph Moukarzel, The Travelers: An Ancient Adventure of Gold, Magic and Forgotten Worlds

“In the beginning was the night,
But the light spoke wisdom into the world.
Let us see, O’ Brother.
Let us hear, O’ Brother.”
Joseph Moukarzel, The Travelers: An Ancient Adventure of Gold, Magic and Forgotten Worlds

“Why do you speak of the stars as men and women?” Ahm asked. “Why is Mushtari a man and Zuhal a woman? How do you know?”
“Because there is duality in all things,” Half-Beard replied. “Even within us. There is a male and a female part in every soul. Look around, Gaia reveals all. Nothing is whole until those parts are reconciled. That is why we find comfort in a partner, through the power of love.”
Joseph Moukarzel, The Travelers: An Ancient Adventure of Gold, Magic and Forgotten Worlds

“If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

“We must live in stories. It must be a path we walk, part of the glue that holds us together. Individuals must unite themselves to a body well-formed in love so that we grow up into the logos himself, who is the head. Without that extra step, we will ultimately be dispersed like smoke like wax before the fire.”
Jonathan Pageau

“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”
Terence McKenna

“Not all those who wander are lost.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
