Kyle Weaver is author of the coming of age novel The Barefoot Warrior. "Ky" is a pen name for award winning author Scott Edmund Miller who also wrote the self help book The User's Guide to Being Human: The Art and Science of Self, which was named the 2012 International Book Awards "Best New Self-Help Book" as well as the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards "Motivational Book of the Year."

Ky completed his first draft of The Barefoot Warrior as a young adult, establishing himself as the fictional protagonist in an attempt to clarify his own dreams for the future. Due to the power of the experience, many of his closest friends call him Ky, rather than by his legal name.
