On ratings

-Any book I rate is subject to change upon further thought.-

1 Star: Didn't like it. Do not recommend.

2 Stars: Meh, it was alright. I found some enjoyment in it, you may like it better.

3 Stars: I liked it. It was solid, enjoyable, and I recommend it.

4 Stars: I really liked it and very much enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

5 Stars: One of my favorites. Not perfect but no reason why you should not read it.

Things that I consider when rating:

I. Enjoyment I had while reading.

II. The writing

III. The structure

IV. Ideas presented

EDIT: Some people seem to find me overly critical when rating. Maybe comparatively speaking I am, but, while reading, I keep a mental list of things I like and dislike about said book. If there are even only a few things I dislike, the book will probably not get a 5 star from me. If there on not many things I find that I like, then the book will probably only get 1 or 2 stars from me.

I put a lot of thought into a rating and I judge it on an objective level and on a subjective level. Whatever rating I give usually is given with my own idea of proper warrant.
