Thad never expected to find anyone who meant more to him than his best friend, Cassie. She was the one woman he loved enough not to sleep with. He was a player, but an honest one. Unfortunately, not everyone felt that balanced out his love ’em and leave ’em ways. He just didn’t see a need to settle down — yet. Then, he met Brianna, who made him think about the future — a future with her — which was a new experience for Thad. Brianna is also a new kind of woman and convincing her that they have a future might just be the challenge of his life.

Brianna works through men like she works through her closet — seasonally. Any other way has always been trouble. When she meets Thad, she is thrilled. Not only does he intrigue and excite her, but he is just like her — noncommittal. He sets her on fire with his smooth talk and honest approach to dating. Even without being physical beyond a kiss, the thought of him makes her entire body hum. Except, Thad has gone and gotten attached to her in a way neither of them expected; attached in a way she simply cannot allow. Unfortunately, he won’t allow their relationship to become physical until she surrenders her heart to him, which is a battle she isn’t sure she can win. Now that we got that out of the way, I’ll tell you what you need to know. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I went back to school in my late twenties and studied Stage Production Technology. I now work full-time in the alterations shop of a major department store and part-time backstage in the various theatres around the area.

I’ve been an avid reader from a very young age and the top goal on my list of things to accomplish in my life was to write and publish a book. During the summer of 2013, while working backstage on The Lion King, I read eleven books in four weeks. I read my first New Adult book and was introduced to a genre I felt I could totally relate to. The idea for Perfectly Broken and the character of Lili was born backstage during that time.

When you live in a small town in Louisiana, you will be approached to buy a Sunday dinner ticket.

It’s usually Civic Organizations, Churches, Special Interest Groups and the meals are generally the same.

BBQ Chicken, and/or Pork. dirty rice, baked beans and coleslaw. A slice of white bread or maybe a roll and that’s dinner.

Every now and then there are fried catfish dinners. You might get French fries with that or maybe not.

The dinner comes in a white plastic plate with a folded cover, which they ask local businesses to donate. They also ask for donations of all the ingredients.

Cost?  The price has gone up through the years and is generally $7 or $8 dollars apiece.

Every now and then you get really lucky and can get a piece of cake to go with it.

Musical Genres & my newfound zest for writing this summer!

I’ve spent the bulk of my career writing Contemporary Romance, which I love. It’s treated me well, here on Main Street, and in my other ventures. I’ve been told a time or two that I should try a different genre, that my voice and my phrasing lends itself to historicals.

So, I have decided to leap into a historical storyline that has captivated me. It’s been so refreshing to my little soul, taking me to new places in my writing that are exciting and rejuvenating.

Many authors write in more than one genre, some using a different name for each. I haven’t gotten far enough into that side of things yet, although I don’t think I’ll use a different name. My historical still has romance as the overall theme, so I don’t think I’ll need a new name. (Plus, pen names can be a real pain the butt to keep…

Cheryl Stewart: I’m worried about my mentor, Professor Howard. He went to lunch with a prospective graduate student, a man from Malaysia, but became sick during the lunch and was rushed to the hospital for food poisoning or heart attack.

Professor Howard asked me to go to France on his behalf and help a French count with the restoration of a chapel and the search for a valuable statue that had been missing since World War II.

What could be more exciting than spending a couple of months working in the plush Loire Valley, in France? I will have to live in the count’s chateau. The same count I saw at Harvard three years ago. A short read but worth it. The Harbinger Series by Jennifer Field is bound to be a good series. This is a story about Tye who we meet in the first of the Harbinger Series. It’s an introduction into his character and how he balances his “real” life with his Harbinger life. He is taken with one of his students Margret who has been having visions since she was a young child. The chemistry with these two is perfect. This is more of love story for Tye than what you get in Twice Lost. But that’s okay. In December of2013, I collaborated with 10 authors and helped create Christmas on Main Street, an anthology of 11 Christmas stories. Most are novels. Some are novellas. There are a few short stories. We were each responsible for our own covers and editing, but one saintly author made our cover, another did all the formatting, one was responsible for running the ads, and two handled the money. We all promoted.

How did we meet? We all belonged to an e-mail loop for romance writers, and someone came up with the idea of forming a group blog. Since there were thirteen of us, we decided to each blog once a month.

In June of 2013, we came up with the idea of each writing a short story that centered on a wedding. I think we were so impressed with ourselves that we decided to collaborate on a box set.
