Jill H. O'Bones is the original pen name Jo Rentschler created with her son with the use of Scrabble tiles when she began showing her hobby writings online, then later when she published her first book, 'A Vow of Tears' as a surprise for her son, never thinking she'd go on to publish five additional books. But as her writing matured, she knew it was time to start writing under a more professional pen name and after a lot of thought she has republished all of her books under her new pen name, Jo Rentschler.

But Jill isn’t gone, you’ll still be able to find her writing during National Novel Writing Month and visiting other various websites.

Writing for me, has come in spurts, …moreI've always enjoyed making up stories, I still have my story about a super dog that I wrote in elementary school. Writing for me, has come in spurts, like a hobby, something will get my attention; a dream, something someone said, something that I heard about in the news, or I just asked, 'what would happen if...?' And I would write, but never a complete story, that didn't happen until 2010. I woke up from a dream, wrote down the idea, then a few weeks later another dream, and when I wrote that down, it kept going. That story is waiting for a rewrite, as is the idea for the story that hit me after my son asked, 'what would you do if your story was made into a movie?'
But when I wrote 'A Vow of Tears', which was at first titled 'Reality', the writing bug and taken me over and I wrote and wrote and wrote.
And then I found Createspace and I thought it would be cool to put my story into book form; something for my son to be able to show his kids and tell them that their Grandmother wrote it. I never intended to publish, publish it, that came after a few friends asked me for copies, and then for the sequel.
My son is who inspired me to take my hobby and become a writer. He was the inspiration for Eric in 'A Vow of Tears', and what I would do to protect him. The vampires came in when I asked myself, "What if?"

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jill H. O’Bones Play around with the characters, make them do something that wasn't planned. (I did once make the M.C. kill her lover once.)

Leave the computer on, but go and do something else, dishes, clean the stalls, mow the lawn, etc.
If something like that doesn't work, I'll stop writing for a few days, and not think about the story. That makes the characters mad and they start speaking, very loudly!(less)

Changes

After learning more tricks I can do with GIMP through Davies Media Design's YouTube videos, I played around and changed the book cover for Shadows in the Soul, (and tweaked my other book covers), but these are not the only changes I am making.

I've had something haunting the back of my mind for a very long time, and after much thought I've decided to take the steps to make the change.

Jill, I also posted a review for each on Amazon. They are not same as on here. I truly feel people should buy this and will devour it like I did. Sometimes the reviews actually work and sell the book. I have been emailed every time when my review has made someone's decision and It feels great to help out. Thanks for the reads. :)
