Review- Wampus Springs - Mark of the Wolf is an amazing book, I love the way Wade Faubert tells the story of Lori. From beginning to end you're on edge of what's coming next, I defiantly was. The story of Lori has a heartbreaking start, the prologue is from where Lori is twelve and living with her mother and father in Wampus Springs and shows the reason why her mother and her left Wampus Springs. The story is emotional with the loss of her best friend Cindy, her first boyfriend Max and her friend Randy who were killed by a werewolf and Lori was scared for life by it. After the prologue it's four years later and you see Lori battling with the lost and nightmares of that horrible day four years prior. Not only does Lori have the nightmares to worry about but the school bullies are on her case all the time, making up rumours about the horrible day four years ago which doesn't make things easy for Lori. Thankfully she has her new best friend Jessica on her side as well as new flame Josh. What I love about this book is that you never know if Lori turns into a werewolf or not and I think that's amazing! I also like the last two chapters and how it keeps you on the edge of your seat and I love it. My favourite character has to be Mr Schafer, the way he fights with Miss Jones and how open he is about it. I laughed at the scene in Camp Takysie with him, Lori, Jessica and Josh when they find out that she has brought her dog Tiger, it has to be my favourite part of the book. The only thing I would have loved about this book is that if it was in first person narrative. Pick up a copy of Wampus Springs - Mark of the Wolf by Wade Faubert, it's full of laughter and finger biting moment. You won't be sorry!

I e-mail Wade Faubert with some questions and here is a little Q&A.

1. What was it about the book that made you want to write it?

This is the first book I've written, so it’s gone through many changes to get to where it is today. I wanted to write a book that could actually happen in the modern world via genetic modification, but after having my original book read by an editor friend, he pointed out many problems with the storyline and characters. Needless to say, I went back to the drawing board and fixed the flaws (I hope) and cut much of my chapters that didn't fit. I'm pleased with the final outcome of the story even though it’s more of a Good vs. Evil story.

2. What is your favourite part of the book?

When Lori finally realizes that running from her past will never solve her problems and that she must risk her life to save the ones she loves. Maybe it’s just me, but I can relate to her troubled past and feel her need to stand tall and fight back.

3. Is there any aspect you would change about it?

After writing my kidnapping book which is full of action, I would love to write the story in first person point of view and fill it full of nonstop action.

4. Who is your favourite character?

Even though I love Jessica’s smart mouth and carefree attitude, I have to go with Lori. I can connect with Lori’s troubled past, her lack of confidence and overall insecurity. I love an underdog who can only grow and get stronger.

5. Is there going to be a sequel to the story?

I’ve had many readers beg me to write a sequel to this book. Truth is I was planning to write two more books in the series and have written the first chapter in Lori’s point of view. I love how connected you feel when looking through her eyes.
Although with everything, it comes down to time. My second novel, Taken – Before her very Eyes has been a surprise hit and I first must write a second book in the genre for all my fans, followed by a sequel to Taken, plus the many other books that are fighting to get out of my mind.

At sixteen years old, Lori Foster has seen a lifetime of pain and suffering. Four years earlier, she watched as her best friends were savagely mauled to death by a rogue wolf, then barely escaped with her own life. The scar on her neck is a constant reminder of just how lucky she was that stormy day in Wampus Springs.
Four years and hundreds of miles from the attack, Lori still searches every shadow for the return of her tormentor. She finds ordinary life to be a struggle, but when she meets Josh Hughes, things appear to get on track. With her best friend Jessica Tanner and her new love in her life, Lori lets her guard down, but it may be premature. When her menstruation begins, her nights are ravaged with nightmares of the attack. The nightmares seem to be more than a coincidence, they seem to hint at an inevitable confrontation between Lori and the wolf that mauled her four years earlier.

Have you ever really, really, wanted a pet?Well I heard this story from a vet. There was a little girl, her name was Pat.And all she wished for was her very own cat.

She did not care if it was tall. She did not care if it was small. She did not care if it was fat.She only cared, it was a cat.

So, every night before bed, Pat wished and wished, and wished some more. She would wish until she could wish no more. Her wish should it dare to come true, would have her holding just one pet, not two.

One day Pat opened the front door, and what did she see? What indeed, what could it be?She blinked once, twice, three times more.Closed the door, then opened it once more.Do you know what she saw?
