These are NOT tips on finding an agent.
Secrets for agents to find real talent:
(1) Stop immersing yourself in 19th Century methodology - like requiring unknowns to send you parts of books and query letters;
(2) Do what the best baseball teams do: scout already PROVEN talent in the minor leagues (like indie markets);
(3) Rather than roll the dice on unproven talent, use the resources available to you to find the proven talent - those already selling tens of thousands of books and generating hundreds or even thousands of 4 and 5-star reviews, often with little or no advertising;
(4) Read the works of the authors for free if you’re a KU member on Amazon;
(5) Buy the rights to published works at a fair price and re-publish them for sale in brick and mortar places;
(6) In doing so, buy the rights to better books and save your own dying industry. I know there is a lot of garbage out there, but a lot of it is traditionally published, and your sales figures are a testament to that.

Diatribe?
To the reader who accused my books #4 and #5 of being political diatribe:
Not a diatribe, Sophie, but an educated reveal, based upon over 30 years of experience, and on watching the Obama administration destroy some of our most valuable institutions. By way of unbiased observation, the Trump administration is not doing much better to date. I’m not the one who chose to try and completely politicize our justice process. I also pointed out deficiencies in the Bush DOJ, and even recommended removal of Justice from the Presidential cabinet in order to prevent EITHER party from politicizing it in the future, so your accusation of an uneven diatribe is inaccurate. I’m glad you enjoyed the other books in the series. Thanks for reading.
