One of the few white kids in a rural Kentucky town, Logan Whyte always kept to his own kind out of self-preservation. He never considered himself racist, but that didn’t stop him from falling in with the wrong crowd that celebrated hate as much as he fought it - or from ending up in prison for eight years on an armed robbery charge.

A successful and educated black woman, Katie Andreassen is tired of being accused of betraying her own race. Her lonely isolation, coupled with her grief over losing her mother, inspire her to create a new pen pal program at Capshaw State Penitentiary, where her father is a warden.

The program brings together the unlikely pair, but Logan and Katie soon find themselves forced to overcome past fears and prejudices. Their friendship doesn’t come easily - threatened by a crooked lawyer with a grudge and a best friend who betrays her promise to help.

When faced with a world that forces them apart, Logan and Katie must show everyone else what they have discovered: that love is, in fact, colorblind.

Depending on who you are talking to, the Vampire Nation is either corrupt, or a necessary evil. On the other side,  the Sect was formed to eradicate all things vampire, or maybe it’s just their mission to protect humans. Echo has been on both sides. He was once a Watcher for the V Nation, but when he uncovered an ongoing plan to kill chosen Sect leaders to force war, he is driven to make a decision he never thought he’d make. 

Echo becomes a Ghost, the name used for traitors of the V Nation. It’s a dangerous way to leave the Vampire Nation, but Echo is sick of all the blood on his hands, and the accompanying nightmares. Leaving behind the darkness isn’t as easy as Echo thinks it will be. Choices he made might cost him the one person that could help redeem his soul.

 Confessions in the Dark

Jackson was granted forgivness for all his past sins so he settled down and married a human. Though he keeps his past sins locked deep away in his heart, his wife, Ava knows her husband and she tells him that she can feel those sins ripping him a part. She begs him to confess to her, but Jackson believes that his darkeness will sully her soul. Ava's parents tell them that they married too young, that their choices are those of insolent children, but Jackson knows better. His love for Ava is strong, but his past and lies threaten to rip them apart. 

A story retold. 

I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo, but I’m bending the rules just a bit. I had a story that needed to be finished and though it wouldn’t be a 50,000 word novel like the NaNoWriMo books are supposed to be, I decided to use the tools the site offered to just finish my novella.

Some of you may have already read the first 11 chapters when it was a free and updated monthly on my site, but I have since finished the book. You can still read those chapters on WattPad for the rest of the month and then I will remove it from there until RITD release day which is set for January 13th, 2014.
