My Bad

So, I’ve been trying to think of the best way to say this for a couple of weeks now and the best thing I can manage is…

1

I could blame my near complete disappearance on a few things, but I don’t want to. I dropped the ball and that’s my fault. As spring starts to pick up and I start to get creative, I wonder if I may suffer form some from of creative SAD. Being that I’ve come out of whatever creative funk, I am not so worried about the root cause now, but I promise I will seek help and guidan...

Review – Furies of Calderon (Codex Alera Book #1)

I bet the Codex Alera wasn’t the first Jim Butcher book people thought I would do a public review over. Still my brain has been stuck in fantasy mode for the last couple on months because of (redacted) and I was recently asked by a friend on Twitter if I would recommend it because he saw that I marked it as read on my GoodReads account. That got me thinking, and after as much of that as I could stand (so, not very much), I decided that this might be something I do on a regular basis. Every mo...

‘Twas How Will Got a Night Off

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through my beat

Not a creature was stirring, not a saint nor a cheat.

All my cases were closed and locked in my desk,

In hopes that for once I could perhaps get some rest.

Conner and crew were all safe, tucked away,

Their plots of yuletide pranks foiled – for today.

Cassi was sound asleep, in my shirt she was wrapped.

I was soon to join her, for at least a quick nap.

When outside somewhere there arose such a clatter,

Cassi sat up and shouted, “What is the matt...

Writing memes

T’was a week before Christmas and…

That is so not happening.

Sorry, everyone. Between a long weekend trip and getting held over at work, I don’t really have a thought provoking blog post set up for this week. Instead I am going to show off some of my favorite writing memes!

Tune in next week, or maybe a day early if I can manage it, for a special Christmas post I think you’ll enjoy. For now, sit back and enjoy!2 baby content neil

NaNoWriMo 2014 Wrap-Up

Well, it’s better late than never. This year during NaNoWriMo, I managed to write 50,354 words in 27 days! On the upside, I’ll now manage to get back to making more in-depth blog posts. On the down side, I now have 50,354 words to edit down into something readable.

Honestly, I have to get back to other projects, so the editing will likely take a while to get to. Still, I thought it best that we go over a couple of the finer points of how I personally survived last month.

Put down the book: I kn...

Things I do when I should be writing…

Let’s be honest. On average, writers would be able to produce work twice as fast if the whole world wide web wasn’t at our fingertips as we were working. I like to think of myself as a fairly dedicated writer and I do make it a point to write something every day.

12032014 (When I say every day I mean it. This is me while out camping last month.)

Still, I am far from perfect and I spend way too much time distracted by the internet.

See that right there? That was a twenty minute YouTube distraction. So, I...

If there were a movie deal…

I had such an awesome idea for this blog post, but then that NaNoWritMo thing happened. Instead I am here combing the random bit of writing and insight on my computer to find something to show you that I think is fun.

To that end, I found this. A long time ago after a number of drinks a few friends and I decided to cast the William Codex: Knight of the Silver Sword movie. The list has been refined a few times since its original inception and no one is locked in. If you have any suggestions for...

The Clockwork Mechanism Behind the Author

Hey y’all, my name is Tina and I help Brian get stuff done! I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself, since I am often the driving force behind the social media and website curtains. Plus, a guest post gives Brian some more time for NaNo.

What do I do? Well, anything really. I curate images for Brian’s Tumblr, so he can spend more time writing and less time staring at Tumblr. In fact, most everything I do is so he can spend more time writing. Now, he does post there himself occasionally...

Sick Day

Sorry guys, I have been a distracting amount of sick this week. I really wanted to go into some NaNoWriMo second half survival techniques, but it was almost all I could do to write this and keep up my own word count for the month. (I’m at 21,479 and just a bit ahead of schedule as of writing this.)
