Philanthropist and thought leader Robert F. Smith is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners (Vista). Born and raised in Denver, CO, Smith grew up in a home where education and service were core values. His parents, both educators, instilled in him a deep commitment to giving back to the community. As an infant, he was brought by his mother to the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. In August 2023, Smith returned to the same spot to give his own speech in honor of the 60th anniversary, carrying forward Dr. King’s vision of justice and equality.
