"A Feed Sack Dress for Sadie
This was a wonderful book! It draws you in & holds you tight. I measure how good a story is by the emotions it brings out. It's fantastic if it pulls you in & makes you cry or makes you laugh out loud. A Feed Sack Dress for Sa" Read more of this review » |

"The Picture On The Cover Says It All
This book is a heartbreaking read, but one I heartily recommend. The writing is strong and it immediately drops the reader into it. One word of caution: don’t start reading if your time is limited. You will be hard " Read more of this review » |

added a status update: "A Feed Sack Dress for Sadie" releases next week.
The story came from something real. My mother was a hospice volunteer and cared for a woman who kept a photo of a little girl in a crudely cut burlap sack dress. She said she had been stolen as a child and never knew where she came from. That stayed with me. I carried her story as I wrote it. Early readers call the book powerful, devastating. |

Thank you so much, Barbara. I’m really glad you enjoyed Ivaleena. It means a lot to hear it felt familiar and true to your memories.

“If youth is the season of hope, it is often so only in the sense that our elders are hopeful about us; for no age is so apt as youth to think its emotions, partings, and resolves are the last of their kind. Each crisis seems final, simply because it is new. We are told that the oldest inhabitants in Peru do not cease to be agitated by the earthquakes, but they probably see beyond each shock, and reflect that there are plenty more to come.”
