I grew up in Indiana, where, as a kid, you were gone all day but home by the time the streetlights came on. If I was home, I was reading books and cultivating a love of stories.
For nearly twenty years I have made Japan my home, raising three children with my wife and weaving together a life that bridges two cultures.

Rather than writing, though, I have spent my life in education, most of that time in leadership roles. Teaching, mentoring, and guiding others has shaped the way I see people and their stories—how curiosity and perseverance can lead to discovery, how imagination fuels growth, and how even the smallest choices can ripple into something much greater.
