I’ve always loved reading and writing and thought I’d start small because I tend to have a very short attention span, I mean, who doesn’t these days.

It’s about my childhood cat, and how she’s been through everything in my life with me. From the time I remember my life to be easy and carefree, to the time everything changed, to the times I kept going even though I didn’t think I could. She is very important to me and I thought my first serious book should be centred around that. (less)

Just finished The Constant in one sitting and I’m sitting here ugly-crying because the moment Willow carries the narrator up those three flights of stairs after the breakup (page 43) absolutely destroyed me. I’ve never read anything that made chosen family feel so real and so fragile at the same time. I need to know what happens after that airport scene, Des, please tell me there’s more of them coming?

I’m not sure what you mean with the airport scene, or the stairs, but they’re great ideas if I decide to write another book following this one. I’m currently working on a novel 300-330 pages about the rawness of a deteriorating relationship, imploding from within. Hope you’ll read it! (less)
