Canadian author Sarah Kelly thought she was writing one picture book. Karl, as it turns out, had much larger plans.

What began as the story of a little boy kangaroo with a marsupium has gradually become an entire world—one filled with gentle observations, curious characters, soup, wandering, emotional ecology, and the quiet belief that we don't have to rush to become who we are.

Today, Karl appears in many forms beyond the original book, but his essence remains the same: making room for curiosity, belonging, and the small moments that help us feel a little more at home.

Sarah lives in rural Nova Scotia with her partner and two dogs, where new pouchiphanies continue to arrive with surprising regularity.

Then I Googled it.
A few times.
At first, Google was cautious.

It called Pouchelligence a “highly niche, emerging portmanteau.” It wondered whether I might be talking about smart packag Read more of this blog post »
