Rachel' s interest in writing was renewed after her daughter's diagnosis with a brain tumor in 2009. After keeping an online blog during the journey, Rachel continued her writing efforts, mainly through her personal blog. She has contributed to a variety of online and print publications with topics ranging from satire and pop culture to human interest and community news.

When not writing, she works in program management for healthcare-related public programs. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Organizational Leadership.

Rachel lives in Ashland, Virginia with her family. In her spare time, she fawns over Don Draper, dark chocolate, and public radio personalities (not necessarily in that order).

A good old spy thriller. I had already seen the TV show it's based on and now know it was a very good adaptation. The action is fast and the story moves quickly. I love the cast of characters, especially the cantankerous Jackson Lamb. Sometimes the s ...more

This novel wasn't King's finest but it was a solid thriller. Instead of supernatural horror, King leans in to domestic terrorism with not one but two maniacal killers driven by irrational thoughts, stoked by political dogma and twisted visions of rig ...more

Suzanne Collins
“I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in things because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years.

But there are much worse games to play.”

C.G. Jung
“The serious problems in life...are never fully solved. If ever they should appear to be so it is a sure sign that something has been lost. The meaning and purpose of a problem seem to lie not in its solution but in our working at it incessantly.”
