Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is alive and festering like a disease everyday in this society. A lot are afraid to speak up/out about it because they fear the consequences. The root of the problem is generational in my opinion, grandma or grandpa was abused by his or her mother and her mother abused her, etc. The abuser is an obviously trouble minded individual who gets satisfaction for bullying someone who is not able to protect themselves because they were treated the same way or this is what they've witnessed growing up. Whatever the reason, it is wrong to intentionally hurt someone to make yourself feel better...more superior. Why doesn't an abuser just get help for their illness? I mean that's what it is right? A mental illness? Perhaps, the fear of being "normal" or feeling genuine love and appreciation seems far fetched to them being that they never got it at home. Or maybe they enjoy it for other reasons that one may never know of. Can an abuser truly change for the better? In my opinion, maybe, If they want the change, it's very possible. Let's not forget that The Most High can correct any mistake and he forgives all for their sins.
Not to take away from the victim, they are the most important factor of this subject. My heart aches for the ones that don't have a voice to speak or the courage to leave. I wish that more would come forward without fear. I wish that more knew how to pray and believe that they will be rescued from the chaos that life has brought to them. I believe that they can survive after the cyle of abuse, only if they choose to stand and say that they have had enough, no matter what they fear the consequences may be, because they are important enough to live...I mean, really live and enjoy all that life has to offer. The victim has a story to tell and a chance to save another from going through the same things. The way I see it, they are the strongest of the two (the abused and the abuser) because their able to withstand it all and still hold their heads up high, knowing that they've made it through the storm. Moving forward in life may very well be a struggle for most but it is also a blessing if you're able to recognize it. Once the blessing is recognized, there is no more victim you are now the victor...& celebration of a new life is in order. & I speak solely from experience...Life lessons.
