Born more right-brained than left, Jolene Tyler has always had an eye for all things creative. In her younger years, she loved both theater and art, which lead her to chasing an art degree in college. But academics were never her strong suit, and the social aspects of college were just a little too fun. The first year slipped through her hands, and she turned her creative passion toward hair. Years later, she became a salon owner.

From a young age, Jolene was drawn to poetry, though her verses never quite found their way into music. Instead, that love of language evolved into storytelling. At nineteen, she began writing a personal project—a story she’s been building for fourteen years with no end in sight.

The world-building in this was so interesting. I'm a sucker for lore intertwined with the heavens, and really enjoyed "The Realms of the After." I also appreciate how the author isn't afraid to touch on subjects or go to dark places that other books ...more
