Feelings

Feelings: an easy word to pronounce and to write, but much more difficult to express, whether to ourselves or to others. Some days we are in the clear zone, we know exactly what we want, how we feel about certain things or people as life appears to go as smooth as silk. While joy may bring us a strong taste of adventure and freedom, we think we know a lot of things from around us and we’ve got everything figured out, but then we fall over those so called feelings of ours and we get lost in a wild place that only exists in our minds. Somehow, we get trapped in there voluntarily.

It’s those exact times when your vision is blocked by mixed signals. Suddenly, you find yourself out of place, hesitant and unsure of humanity, while you question everything in search for a sure answer. Is it fear and doubt? Or happiness and excitement? Perhaps it’s sadness and grief… Maybe it’s loneliness or simply you’re feeling down. Sometimes, it’s all of those emotions brewing inside your guts at the same moment. Not only that you stop understanding what your current state of mind is, but you are also unable to comprehend the feelings of other people, and that is the scary part.

Not understating something in life regardless of how big or small, really takes a hit on us as human beings. Because it is in our nature to investigate clues and discover new things, not knowing the solution to something rather important would most likely drive us crazy. It starts with doubting yourself and your choices then suspecting people’s intentions and actions. But unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. You then begin to play the what if game back and forth, making up your own conclusions and reasons.

Was it the promotion that you didn’t receive that started your career breakdown? Or the gone love of your life who didn’t appreciate the good in you and made you lose faith? Maybe it was the high expectation that you’ve set for your family that fell short this time. Or the close friend you’ve tragically lost and miss dearly but can no longer hear their voice. The reality of the matter is anything could have triggered those feelings to run out of control. Anything at all. What do we do then? We panic and build giant walls to separate us from everything and everyone as we drown in darkness and deep beneath the line of depression.

But before you get all tangled up in such dramatic situation and draw your own ending, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you are only human. Things don’t have to be prefect all the time. It’s okay not to have every detail of your life planned out in advance. Consider that sometimes not knowing the answer to something may be a blessing and not a curse. Maybe you’re thinking right now, oh my, she’s so optimistic, you may even roll your eyes at the screen, and that’s okay because you’re right, no matter how positive I want to be, some unfortunate events continue to happen every day in every corner of the world. Why? Because some things are out of our control, and we have got to accept that and let go. Sadly time does not stop for anything or anyone, so why should we?

Have you thought of the things that we can actually control? For example, if we learn how to clear or minds, and focus on the journey while having fun instead of stressing out. What if we learn to ask the right questions at the right time, and fully understand the given answers, we may then have some control over our complicated feelings. Let them breathe when necessary, share some laughs and even tears, but do not allow them to take charge of who you are today and who you plan to become tomorrow.

Silence

A moment of silence is a most wanted time we all wish to have more of during the rush hours of our lives. It’s the quickest gateway from the noises that surround us, and from the voices which are speaking to us on regular basis. From time to another, we need a peaceful minute to exhale the negative energy and calm ourselves down while trying to handle a million task at once. As we desperately seek such tranquility, we almost feel as if all noises and sounds seemed to have disappeared, someplace far away, but on the contrary our surrounding becomes quiet enough for us to hear our own heartbeats.

Suddenly, we are thinking of the little details and fine lines, the unanswered questions we continue to wonder about, over and over again, the unforgotten arguments and much worse. It is then that the tiny voice inside of each one of us comes to play it role as it becomes louder and louder, demanding our full attention. That’s when we get separated from the real world only to live in a complete other.

Living in our own planet and being in charge may sound like an exciting idea, but the truth is, that world we created ourselves is far more complicated than that. It’s like a big bubble filled with question marks and unorganized thoughts ready to burst at any minute. It is during those silent periods that we find ourselves with so much words to speak, dialogues to fill in, emotions to reveal and fears to hide. But the thing is, we are so self-invested in the time being, we don’t eve know how or where to begin. We have no one else around to trust or share with our inner burdens, therefore, silence is not always what it appears to be, as it holds a great deal of deep conversation inside its closed walls. So the next time you see someone being somewhat quiet, you’ll understand the storm brewing inside their soul.

Life

What is life? Though it does sound like a complex word we often take a deep breath after mentioning, as we stop and think to ourselves of the pains and complications, yet mostly the deep secret behind its existing. Obviously, it’s more than just living organisms, singing birds, pure waters or warm energy. Perhaps if we start at the beginning of time, from the moment the sun and the moon were magically created to add a special spark into the sky, where the light and darkness come together to define our long days and silent nights, we may then begin to have a better understanding.

The truth is, Life is simply surviving the good and the bad. It’s a precious gift that no individual personally had asked for, but was given to us regardless, which means that we are lucky to be alive. We were chosen for a chance to explore the gorgeousness of nature, the wonders of the world and most importantly to live and be a part of something amazing. So, why do we tend to forget all that in a moment of weakness?

Whether we believe in destiny or not, life is everything friendly and unpleasant that we encounter every single day, not a lame excuse to hide behind when bad luck strikes. Oh, it’s life… We say and roll our eyes. With a positive attitude we can turn negative vibes into an opportunity for a better start. Life is the chances that we take, the mistakes that we occasionally make, the heartbreaking disappointments, the stubborn illnesses, the many obstacles that we overcome, better yet the success we celebrate with open arms, which spells out each and every experience for the unique journey that it eventually becomes.

So even when our so called life sticks, and when nothing is going right, or left, we can’t hit the brakes just yet. We have a great responsibility to deliver and we owe it to the great creator who keeps on giving us every breath we take, and until we can no longer breathe, we shall never stop walking the path, fighting our battles, searching for our purpose, all while celebrating the gift of life.

Who am I?

My name is Ramona. I am a full time mother, a part-time sales assistant and most importantly a passionate writer. Coming from a bilingual background, I enjoy reading and writing about different cultures and unique traditions. Literary fiction is my point of interest, because of the value of its commentary, a story is more than just words, as it turns into a living beat inside the reader’s heart.

Speaking of the fiction world, I’m also a self-published author. I didn’t exactly intend to go in that direction, (long story) but that’s not what this blog is about. Between fairy tales and every day life lies a reality we cannot deny, or even avoid. From love to family and friendship, to pains, illness or even to death, each and every person must walk their journey from start to finish. No matter how strong or weak we feel, how motivated or helpless we get, each adventure is an experience that changes our lives and touches our souls in ways we cannot imagine, and that’s what I’m here to discuss.

Each week, I will share a real life topic to highlight some of the simple values that gets lost between our normal habits and the hectic ways of living in our modern times. I thank you all in advance for your engagement and I look forward to your comments and any subject of discussion that you may wish for me to talk about.
