Lisa Partington is an Australian writer and researcher living in Queensland, with deep roots in English family history. Her parents emigrated to Australia in 1964 as “Ten Pound Poms,” but her heart — and her research — has remained in the villages, churchyards, and archives of England.

While researching her family during COVID, Lisa uncovered a 1904 inquest into the suspicious death of Martha Goddard, a distant relative from the village of Thrussington. What began as a genealogical curiosity became Martha: Thrussington’s Unheard Voice — a meticulously researched account of a woman nearly lost to history.

Lisa now divides her creative life between historical writing and the careful restoration and modernisation of classic literature. Her illustrated, accessibility-minded editions—such as Villette and The Lifted Veil—focus on preserving the author’s voice while making these works engaging, readable, and visually rich for con-temporary audiences. These, as well as Marian Rooke, Barbara Halliday, The Pursuit of Camilla and Lord Lynn's Wife form part of her LP Rescued Classics series, dedicated to returning long out-of-print works to circulation and restoring overlooked or under-served titles to a place where they can be read, understood, and appreciated anew.
