Finally published my book.
Hello, World.
Alright, then. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably stumbled across my author page—either you liked the look of a book or you were just having a proper nose around. Either way, welcome.
This first post is just a quick 'Hello' and a bit of context for anyone wondering what on earth I’m doing here, dragging my messy life onto the page.
Turning the Worst Times into Words
I'm a working-class bloke from the South Wales valleys, living in Bristol now, and for a long time, my life felt like a collection of disasters waiting to happen. I've dealt with crushing anxiety and depression, I’ve fought a brutal battle with sex addiction, and I’ve had to claw my way back after being on the receiving end of domestic violence.
For years, I kept it all bottled up, ashamed of the lot of it. The shift came a few years back, thanks to the biggest kick up the backside imaginable: bowel cancer. If that wasn't enough, it came back a sharp five months after the surgery. Facing your own mortality like that—twice—tends to focus the mind. It gave me the one thing I'd always lacked: the courage to stop hiding and start writing.
My decision to put all this stuff on the page isn't about wallowing in it; it's about turning that bad energy into something useful.
What I’m Writing About
In short: the human struggle.
My main goal in writing is to reach out to anyone going through the same kind of hell I did. Whether it’s the isolating fight with addiction, the everyday slog of mental health issues, or the heavy weight of loneliness, I want my books to feel like a lifeline. I want you to know you're not the only one. If my story helps even one person feel a little less alone, then it’s worth dragging all the darkness into the light.
When I’m not typing away, I'm usually found at the gym (trying to keep this body in one piece), chilling with animals, or watching some proper terrifying horror films.
Cheers for taking the time to read this. I'm genuinely excited to be part of the Goodreads community and to finally share these stories with you.
Speak soon,
