The power of story has always enthralled Lucinda. As a child she enjoyed watching and discussing movies with her family. Reading was also a favorite pastime in her home. These favorite family past-times led her to pursue degrees in theatre. She’s been a theatre artist, drama and English teacher, which eventually led her to writing. Her first published work is Scottosaurus The Little Dinosaur, which was originally a gift for her oldest nephew when he was six years old. However fun writing children’s books may be, writing fiction is her main goal. Her first novel, The Space Between Time, will be published sometime in 2014. In 2013, she began writing a weekly blog, Sage Woman Chronicles. You can also find her on Facebook, Twitter, and She Writ ...more

The first that came to mind was the world of Harry Potter. That would be fun. I'd love to be a witch and live in the wizarding world. But, I just finished reading, A Handful of Pebbles, and I must confess that even though it's a real place, I would love to live in Greece. In 1996, my husband and I took a trip circumnavigating the globe. Greece was one of my favorite places to visit. We got to travel around the country during our three weeks there and it was a vacation from our vacation. I loved the pace of life in the smaller villages. So, I think my answer would be Greece if I had to stay there. It would be the prefect place to write, eat, lay in the sun swim in the gorgeous Agean Sea and have lovely conversations with friends.(less)

Book Description Take Two

After getting some feedback from writer friends, I've rewritten my book description. Tell me what you think.

When Jenna’s fiancé breaks their engagement, her mother dies, and she’s fired from her job all in the same week, her life is shattered. Not knowing what else to do, she goes home to rebuild her life. Yet she is haunted by self-re Read more of this blog post »

Alice Borchardt
“‎Maeniel felt this was why all the great sages never wrote anything down. In the final analysis, scriptures are futile things, dependent as they are on the intentions of the interpreter. All too often too literal a mind can lead human students into strange follies. Sometimes it is better to allow the searchers to try to plumb the depths of the great mystery on their own and accept that not every one of those taking the road will see the same end.”
Alice Borchardt

Laura Hillenbrand
“His books were the closest thing he had to furniture and he lived in them the way other men live in easy chairs.”
Laura Hillenbrand, Seabiscuit: An American Legend

“It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for a bird to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Lucinda I've been so busy, I haven't paid much attention to this site. I'm redesigning my Intro to Theatre class and putting it into the new online teaching program. Watch for comments about two new plays I'll be reading to add to the course.
