I chose conversations because that’s where this story truly lived.

During the lockdown, relationships were built almost entirely through messages. There were no shared spaces, no physical cues, only words, pauses and timing. Conversations strip people down. You can’t hide behind setting or action. What you say, what you don’t say and when you go silent becomes the story.

Writing it this way forced emotional honesty. I couldn’t explain what Ved or April felt, I had to let them reveal it themselves. Their vulnerability had to come naturally, line by line, the way real connections form. That restraint made the emotions truer and it trusted the reader to listen closely.

Until Our Voices Meet was always about that quiet intimacy, two people slowly choosing to be seen through words alone.(less)
