Alan is the Harvard Book Prize winner who authored "facebookworm" and coauthored a print/web/wap project entitled "9TimeZones.com," which was included in the Whitney Biennial. His work has appeared in a dozen-odd anthologies and may be found in various periodicals, including Playboy, PC, and Britain's Guardian and Screenwriter. His Screenwright(R) screenplay formatter won a $3,333 cash award from Sun Microsystems, and he's written screenplays that finished in the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals of various international competitions. Q: Who became a blogger 30 years ago today?

A: I started hand-coding an online personal journal in early 1996, before the term "weblog" or "blog" was coined (late 1997), and long before automatic blogging software was invented (1998). Between 4/4/1996 and 9/22/2001, regular installments of "The Snoozeletter" appeared in cyberspace, on the now-defunct apc.net/ia subdomain.
