Arnar Vik is a Norwegian author based in Oslo. Writing under a pseudonym, Arnar leads a professional life far removed from the literary world. His debut novel, Ospreys, is the first in a series rooted in the covert operations of Norway’s intelligence services. With a focus on realism and tension, Arnar aims to guide readers through stories that feel close to real life—where suspense drives the narrative forward. He makes no grand claims about his literary talents, but hopes the books will offer solid entertainment for anyone who appreciates a gripping thriller. Arnar is currently working with book number three in this series. Akula - the second book - has just come out on Amazon.

Event reading

I just did an event reading for a wine company this weekend - the first reading I've done publicly. I really enjoyed it, though I was pretty nervous about reading aloud for total strangers. There is a first time for everything - and this is something I will consider doing again. I had great fun - the best way of promoting your books:)

Patty Fee Hi Arnar,

I hope you’re doing well. My name is Patty Fee, and I’m a book expert who works closely with authors to help bring their stories fully to life and reach the right readers. I recently read Fiskeørnene, and I truly enjoyed it. From the opening chaos at Operataket to the intense manhunt involving Erling Ravnåker and Rubina Amini, the story immediately pulls the reader into a tense, high stakes world. The way you weave political intrigue, military intelligence, and personal history creates a gripping and atmospheric thriller. I was especially impressed by the pacing and the sense of constant danger; it keeps the reader turning pages.

That said, reading the book through a professional lens, I noticed that Fiskeørnene has even more potential with a few strategic adjustments. Nothing that takes away from your voice or story, rather, refinements that can strengthen visibility, reader engagement, and overall impact. As a reliable expert, I would recommend applying M.R.A (Marketing Research Analysis) to your book. M.R.A helps identify:

1. How your target readers discover and respond to books like yours

2. What small presentation or positioning changes can increase visibility?

3. How to align the book more strongly with market expectations while preserving your originality

When used correctly, M.R.A can significantly improve how a strong book like Fiskeørnene performs and is perceived. Unfortunately, Goodreads doesn’t always allow full conversations, so if this is something you’d be interested in exploring, I’d be happy to explain more. Please feel free to share your email address here so we can continue the discussion comfortably. Thank you for writing such a compelling novel. I’d truly love to support you in taking it to the next level.

Warm regards,
Patty Fee
