Dek Green was displaced in time. Described even from the earliest years as an “old soul," she loves teapots, typewriters, and checking out books from the library.

Green’s writing, too, veers toward that of an older era, an era of embellished decadence and a dogged adherence to decorum that served to gloss over the turmoil and injustice that stirred beneath.

Whether as homage or simply theft, Green draws some inspiration from such masters of the age as Howard, Poe, Wodehouse, and Lovecraft, while trying to strive in new directions against their troubled legacy.
