I was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from college in West Virginia, I returned to New York, eventually becoming a novelist, actor, songwriter and poet. I have also done some stand-up comedy in the city.

After raising our now grown daughter and son on Long Island, my wife, Edit and I moved back to Brooklyn, where we currently reside.

The novels I write, and songs I compose and sing are based on life experiences, and whatever happens to be kicking around my brain at the time I put them down on paper. These can include social conditions, politics and/or anything else that moves me in any particular direction.

I try not to feel too guilty about it and find other things to do besides figuring out why it is occurring. I like to swim and will go to the pool, or read online news. In a day, or a few days, I will usually come back to whatever project I have been working on and pick up from where I left off. (less)
