How and when the church’s view of Christ’s reign & return shifted
1. 30–70 AD — The Apostolic Era
Belief: Christ has come, is reigning, and will return only to complete what is already true and currently in motion.
Jesus is enthroned (Acts 2:30–36).
The Kingdom is present (Luke 17:21).
Believers reign with Him (Eph. 2:6).
No expectation of a political messiah.
No future earthly kingdom like Jewish messianism.
