Nací en la ciudad blanca de Arequipa-Perú el 12 de agosto del año 1972. Soy peruano de nacimiento y alemán por ascendencia. Mis estudios primarios y secundarios, hasta el segundo año, los realicé en el colegio Pedro Ruiz Gallo en Chorrillos-Lima. De ahí tuve el orgullo de entrar al Colegio Militar Leoncio Prado y terminé mis estudios secundarios en el año de 1988 integrando la gloriosa promoción XLII.

Ingresé a la ENAMM (Escuela Nacional de Marina Mercante) el siguiente año y terminé graduado como Tercer Piloto en la especialidad de Cubierta ocupando el primer puesto de la misma.
