Yes, I definitely hope to write more books from Chris Buckley's perspective. My current YA series connects with The Solitary Tales. I hope to launch a series that shows Chris in college. I see it darker than The Solitary Tales with the setting in Chicago. Maybe--hopefully-these could even see the light of day next year perhaps? (less)

The Soft Sigh

Not long ago

An echo

Ten or eleven years

Or maybe even twenty

The soft sigh of yesterday says hi

Brushes by

Stings while it sings

Reminding you of everything

Every grandeur

Every mirage

Every moment

As the fog dissipates

The findings remain

Relics in time

Stitched on the soul

This world . . .

So brief

So beautiful

Like a smile and a laugh

Like a song and a lyric

Like unfinished stories

In an unfinish

“I've got a lot of homework to do, and none of it has anything to do with school.”
Travis Thrasher, Solitary

“She ever marry?"
"No."
The no sounds like "not in a million years." Like Aunt Alice couldn't marry, like she has one arm and horns sticking out of her head and she talks in tongues. Or maybe has several tongues to talk with.”
Travis Thrasher, Solitary

“Sometimes you can lock the doors and close the blinds, but the monsters are still there inside your house, sleeping and breathing and just waiting to wake up and terrorize you all over again.”
Travis Thrasher, Marvelous

“Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”
Stephen King, Different Seasons

“Writing a novel is like taking a long cross-country journey. The hardest part is getting going, making sure you have all the items you need to take with you, double- and triple-checking that the route you’re taking is the best way. So often you leave your driveway and start north when you realize you actually needed to head southwest. I’ve never written a novel without a certain number of false starts. And it never seems to get easier. Part of me thinks it only gets harder.”
Travis Thrasher, Three Roads Home

“What would it be like to be a white page, starting from the beginning with stories untold and memories unmade? To start with a blank slate and go from there?"-Travis Thrasher, Broken”

Moriah Leech My dad and I are really enjoying the Solitary Tales!! Just bought them on a whim with some of my graduation money and REALLY glad I did!
Great job! Particularly on dialogue and character development. Chris is literally one of the most believable and lovable characters I've seen in a while. :)
