Thank you for your comment and Friendship, Matthew. I am glad you found the review to be fair. I make an effort to be honest but also to try to see a book from the point of view of the author. In fact, it is my wife who is your real fan and she led me to 'The Last Dickens' (and to 'The Poe Shadow'). But one thing outraged her and it was your (UK) publisher's doing. Comparing you with Dan Brown on the blurb!
No disrespect to the churner-out of exciting thriller-fantasies but her view (and mine) is that you are far more sophisticated than that and we hope that you will not be seduced too far by the hungry jackals of the book trade into populist excesses!
We will definitely be looking out for 'The Technologists' and, if it is read, it will be reviewed.
Thank you for the add, Matthew. I will be at B&N tomorrow to pick up "The Technologists". I already know it will be an incredible read.Congratulations on this new book - I hope the copies will fly off the shelves, flood the mails, and bring you much well-deserved success.
Hey! Picked up 'The Last Dickens' last night at B&N! Reading the premise.. ohhhhhhhh.. it sounds good! Shall savor this one!
I just love it when an author I truly enjoy reading, thinks I'm worth being friends with! Thanks....I'm doing my bit to turn other people onto your work...my Dad, my sons. I'm come to realize that historical fiction is my favorite type of book....and you do it so well!
Thank you so much for the add! I am a huge fan of your work, and truly love both The Dante Club and The Poe Shadow. They're exceptionally well spun tales with a wonderful mix of history and enchanting fiction. I'm also looking forward to reading The Last Dickens very soon. Hope your weekend's been a lovely one.
