Power Game Hard Cover and Trailer
I’m getting excited now that January is near. Power Game features Ezekiel and takes place in New Orleans. The heroine has never been heard of before, but she brings with her new information for the Ghostwalkers that is critical and a game-changer to them all.

Without giving too much away, because I do want the book trailer to surprise you, we will be seeing some familiar faces and there will be some things that surprise even seasoned Ghostwalker series readers. So, if you’ve not seen the book trailer, please watch it before reading the rest of this blog.
Power Game Book Trailer
If you didn’t catch it, that’s Violet betraying the Ghostwalkers. But, she’s got more up her sleeve and even Whitney won’t see this coming.
Yes, someone dies. No, I can’t tell you who. But, it couldn’t be avoided. And it makes sense to the story. It had to happen.
The publisher decided it was time to put the Ghostwalkers into hard cover and though I know not everyone will be happy about the change, having the publisher want to take that step is a real compliment to an author. I’m proud they feel the series should progress to hard cover. But, I am also sensitive to what it means to my loyal readers. There will be a paperback edition, just like it is with the Carpathian novels. But, it comes a few months later. Please don’t forget your local library. And there are used book stores that you can check with a week or two after the book is out. Not everyone keeps the hardback editions.

The Count Down to Judgment Road
It's exciting and nerve-wracking and fun all at once when an author releases a new series. Especially if you have a series or two that's already popular. You wonder if readers will give the new series a try. Will that like it?
I enjoyed writing Judgment Road so much and sometimes next week will start writing the next book in that series. On January 23rd Judgment Road will be released and I'm hopeful people will like it. It's very different from anything else I write.
The book trailer is out and it is a good representation of the series and the book. You can find it here on GoodReads, but here's a link to it if you'd like to watch it-

A Controversial Strength- Torpedo Ink
Judgment Road hero Reaper has a dark and horrible past. He was taken by criminals who murdered his parents and both he and his brother Savage were put into a “school” that taught them to be assassins, and where they were brutally abused in every way imaginable.
Reaper was very young when he was brought to the Russian school. His brother was even younger. He was stripped of everything and given only pain and suffering. Cruelty was compounded by the pain of watching other children die. Though the book doesn’t go into any graphic detail regarding the children it does address a specific time in which Reaper is abused. This event causes PTSD and a trigger is created in him that he feels he can never overcome.
Along comes Anya. She’s running from something and he knows it. But, she’s beautiful, alluring and kind. She helps the homeless, befriends those alone in the world and doesn’t judge others. Reaper can’t keep away from her. He sees her night after night as she works behind the counter of a Torpedo Ink bar. Naturally, with her beauty and kind nature Reaper realizes he is attracted to her and does the most natural thing for Reaper to do- he asks Viktor to fire her. In Reaper’s mind he is doing her a favor, perhaps even saving her…from him.
There are two specific scenes in the book in which Reaper’s past meets Anya’s compassion and we realize beyond a doubt two things- First, they love each other. Second, she is every bit as strong as he is, but with Reaper his strength is his physical strength and with her it’s her compassion and understanding.

I won’t be able to be specific about the scenes because that would be a spoiler. But, I have no doubt that these scenes will be controversial. Reaper does two very different things that require Anya to understand he has PTSD, understand he hasn’t been brought up with normal society, understand he would never hurt her and have compassion for a man scarred in so many ways she can’t possibly see them all until situations come up to reveal them one layer at a time.
One of the things I found very disconcerting as I researched abuse is the way male victims of sexual abuse were treated compared to females. Let me say that NO sexual abuse is worse or easier than another. It is ALL horrible and should be treated as such and victims should all, equally, be shown compassion, empathy, understanding and support. During my research though I found that male victims of sexual abuse were often encouraged not to speak of it. There was little sympathy and a lot of “get over it” by society. This is very upsetting to me. I knew I wanted to address this issue and highlight the struggles of abused men.
I realize it may seem that Anya forgives Reaper too easily. Given the circumstances of what happens in the scene and the fact that Reaper is clearly in a PTSD episode, no woman loving a man would then blame him for his reaction any more than they should blame a woman who had been raped for her reactions. I feel that Anya is smart and compassionate and it shows in the way she reacts to or about him. A woman doesn’t have to kick ass to be strong. As a matter of fact, neither does a man. There are other characteristics that make someone strong. Courage isn’t about winning in a fight. It’s about being terrified, but still moving forward toward what scares you because it’s the right thing to do.
Anya is a very strong heroine. Given who Reaper is, she’d have to be. He couldn’t have a woman who wasn’t strong. I have faith in my heroine and stand by her choice to fight against her fears and to stand up for a man who is trying to overcome his horrific past, but is struggling. Sometimes the greatest courage is compassion.

Leopard’s Run Book Trailer – First Public Release!
Leopard’s Run is out November 6th and it’s both sexy and action-packed!

I love the conflict Timur and Ashe have. They’re both driven. They both have a mission. Timur doesn’t trust Ashe and for good reason, she’s most certainly keeping a secret. Timur is tasked to keep his brother, his family, safe. He takes his job very seriously. When Ashe appears out of the blue, working for Timur’s sister-in-law, he’s already pissed. There’s something about her that doesn’t quite add up and Timur is willing to do what it takes to figure her out. And what it takes to stop her if she proves to be a danger to those he’s sworn to protect.
Timur finds that his own body is willing to betray him as he gets closer to Ashe. Not a good idea when he might have to kill her. But perhaps, just one taste…

Vengeance Road Book Trailer Behind the Scenes

I wanted to get across that the MC is a cohesive group and I dreamed of having several Harleys taking off or coming in, driving down the road or lined up with riders straddling them. I love motorcycles and I knew I had to have that as part of the book trailers starting with Vengeance Road. So, we put a call out for friends, family and volunteers to help us create some stock footage specific to the Torpedo Ink series with some bonus footage specific to Vengeance Road.

It was a long day. It started around 8 AM and ended at 8PM. There was a morning crew and an evening crew since the day was going to be so long. All in all there were a little over 20 people participating.

Meeting everyone, hanging out, it was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a long while. There’s some footage that I won’t be able to show for a while since it would be a spoiler if anyone saw it. That was fun to watch it be filmed though.
I loved the wonderful ladies who played Lana and Alena! They were perfect for those characters and they both had a great badass look! LOL
We had four locations where we were shooting. We did some on the road shots, some at a tattoo parlor, at my home and then at a garage. We tried to think of as many shots as we could given that I haven’t written all the books yet so we didn’t know specifically what was needed with a few exceptions. We have riding scenes, tattooing scenes, fighting, kissing, a bar scene, shooting and I’m sure I’m forgetting some. LOL

It was a long, fun day and I enjoyed meeting everyone and watching my characters come to life.

Toxic Game Book Trailer
Draden and Shylah are one of the most romantic couples I've ever created and I'm exited for their story to be told March 12th.
I wanted to share a bit about the book and reveal the Book Trailer for you today! I hope you'll enjoy it!

On a rescue mission in the heart of the Indonesian jungle, Dr. Draden Freeman and his GhostWalker team need to extract the wounded as quickly as possible — or risk spreading a deadly virus unleashed by a terrorist cell. When Draden gets infected he forces his team to leave him behind. He won't risk exposing anyone else. He intends to find the ones responsible and go out in a blaze of glory...
Shylah Cosmos's mission is to track the virus and remain unseen. Her enhanced senses tell her that the gorgeous man eradicating the terrorists one by one is a GhostWalker — and his lethal precision takes her breath away. When he's hit by a lucky shot she can't stop herself from stepping in, not knowing that by saving his life she's exposed herself to the virus...
There's no telling how much time Draden and Shylah have left. Racing to find a cure, they quickly realize that they've found their perfect partner just in time to lose everything. But even as the virus threatens to consume their bodies, they've never felt more alive.

Shadow Reaper Re-Read Recap!
Welcome to our wrap up of the Shadow Reaper re-read! Next week we'll be re-reading Shadow KeeperShadow Keeper!
It’s interesting going a long time without reading a book how things fade from my memory. It isn’t that I forget everything, I don’t. But, some of the details fade. So, re-reading Shadow Reaper was like adding color to a wonderful black and white picture. Everything becomes alive, vivid and detailed. I’m reminded of how much I enjoyed researching the art of shibari. I recalled them going to Japan, but not all the small details. It all came to life as I was reading it. It was a joy visiting those characters again. I love how Ricco was so willing to take a chance and I love how strong she was.
Three of my favorite scenes are-

1. There’s a scene in chapter three where Ricco has to tell his family about her and admit some secrets he’d been keeping from them. He knew Stefano might not be happy with the details of the woman Ricco had chosen, especially since that woman could be dangerous to him.

2. In Chapter 9 Ricco and Mariko had shared a past horror and it had drained them. Ricco was taking his emotions out on a punching bag as Mariko cried in the shower. I love that she realized he needed her and it was her own decision to go to him. To give herself to him. To be vulnerable to him.

3. I really enjoyed the chapter in which they go back to Japan together to face their demons. Chapter 17 shows the growth of their relationship and within themselves as well. And I enjoyed the change of scenery and culture, learning new things about shadow riders in another country.
I always like to see what passages readers choose as their favorite so I looked up on Kindle and took the top three passages. These are the most popular, most highlighted, in Shadow Reaper.
I thought it would be fun to comment on those as part of our re-read of Shadow Reaper this week.
Shadow Reaper Most Highlighted on Kindle
1. She was mixed—Japanese and American. Nothing. A nothing. A nobody. The kanji in her last name meant “female devil.” She didn’t even know what her real last name was because she’d dishonored the family simply by being born.
It’s heartbreaking for anyone who, especially when very young, has someone, who is influential in their life, degrade and debase us. Hurtful comments meant to make someone feel they are less, feel they are bad, they are unworthy, follow us even when we become adults.
Mariko was given over to a woman who hated her and who told her she was “bad” and unworthy, even giving her a name that meant “female devil”.
Every person who has ever had to endure and/or fight someone who tore them down can feel empathy for Mariko.
2. “The biggest problem is that she’s a shadow rider and I’m fairly certain she’s here to kill me.”
Ricco knew that telling his family, especially Stefano, was taking a chance. He knew Mariko was his. He needed the time to find out what she was there for, what her mission was. But, having her in his life was a high risk to him and would affect his entire family.
I love this scene. He showed his family his willingness to be vulnerable to a woman he wasn’t about to trust yet. It showed his commitment to winning her over and making her his. But, just as important as winning her was being honest and loyal to his family. He was in a precarious position, but determined to see it through because he needed her.
3. “It was Kenta Ito who killed Akiko’s father. He painted his face with her father’s blood and was dancing around Akiko and Nao. They wanted her to see that her family was dead. Nao had raped Akiko and he cut her to pieces. She was still alive, and Nao told her he was going to kill her little brother and sister. He told her he would violate her sister in front of her before he killed her. Her sister was three years old. Her brother was fifteen months.”
This was especially horrible on so many levels. What happened to the family was horrific. Nao was a leader who was able to turn his followers into these mindless, savage beasts that went into a frenzy of violence. All the while, Nao was completely cognizant of what he was doing. How he was manipulating and building everything around him to ensure maximum anguish and pain.
Throughout time there have been instances of mob/pack mentality resulting in elevated violence. Where one person may not cross a line into violence, add others to the group and someone to incite them you have cases of murder, torture or rape when, alone, it never would have happened. This family didn’t have to die. Nao orchestrated the annihilation of a family and directed his pack into a frenzy of hate.
To wrap up I thought I’d share the book trailer for Shadow Reaper and invite you to share with me what your favorite scenes were!

The Making of the Dark Melody Trailer
I thought we could celebrate the release of the new cover for Dark Melody by taking a trip back to 2003 together. COS Productions who created the book trailers for Dark Melody did a “behind the scenes” articles many years ago. The article is no longer available, but they sent it to me to use in order to celebrate the re-issue and beautiful new cover for Dark Melody. I hope you enjoy it!
The Making of the Dark Melody Book Trailer in 2003
(Use with permission) by Sheila English
For those of you who read Christine Feehan’s Dark series this is going to rock your world! Dark Melody is much different than the other Dark books and as a fan myself, I have to say that this is my personal favorite. I couldn’t stop thinking about it even after I finished reading it.
The book meant so much to me after reading it that the teaser scheduled to be shot July 21st became a full blown Book Trailer . It was so hard to choose the scenes that would adequately share with all of the other Dark Series fans what this book promises to be. All the elements that we’ve all grown to love about this series are there, but there’s more. There is something in this that will touch your soul.

Finding the right actors was not an easy task. We needed someone who could adequately portray the sweetness of Corrine, and Terese Aiello was perfect for the part. In one scene, Corrine lays on a table dying with a helpless Dayan looking on. When she called out his name I got goose bumps. By the end of the scene I had teary-eyed crew and a scene that was worthy of this wonderful book.

This book brings back some beloved characters and the part of Gregori is played by actor Mark Alexander. Although not exactly matching the description of the original Gregori, Mark had an essence that was Gregori that transcended onto to film. Mark was great! Once we started talking about the scene and what was happening to his good friend “Dayan” and Dayan’s lifemate, Mark got so involved in the story he wanted to know why Gregori couldn’t just “save her” or “bring her over” himself. Mark hadn’t read any of the books, but I would be willing to bet that he has by now. He loved the fact that he was playing a beloved Carpathian and took the responsibility of his role very seriously.
The hardest role to fill was that of our hero, Dayan. We needed someone who could be a rock star, look lost and forlorn, and convince us that he had just found the love of his life and would be willing to die or her. We held two auditions looking for the right person. In the end, we found him…sitting next to me at the audition table. Circle of Seven Productions own Isaac Hirotsu Woofter . Isaac, as many of you know, played Aden in The Gemini Keys and will play Aden again in the upcoming release of The Brethren this fall. Isaac is also the Artistic Director of Circle of Seven Productions and many of you have met him at the various book conventions over the last few months. Isaac was introduced to Christine’s Dark Series when he joined us and saw Dark Symphony. He met and became friends with Mrs. Feehan, learning a great deal about the Carpathians and lifemates. Playing Dayan was very personal for Isaac and he really put himself into the character. Not only did he want to do this for Christine Feehan, but he wanted the fans to really feel and see the kind of love and longing the Carpathians are capable of. And let me tell you…he delivered!

The day was going to be a long one. We had a band, three actors, a full crew and enough extras to make the tavern scene look believable. Thanks to the Feehan family and many of the wonderful people of Lake and Mendocino County, we got our crowd and the filming began.

The band that Dayan plays with, in the book, is a local band that he jams with. We wanted to have music that would be unique and we found a band with a very original sound – Modalities. This band has a sound that is hard to describe, but great to hear. They are a cross between rock, world music, and hip hop. The band plays two songs during the trailer and is currently writing a song just for Dark Melody. The music will be made available soon. All the music in Dark Melody is original music by Modalities.

As a special treat, Christine makes a cameo appearance in the trailer. You may recognize other people as well if you look hard. Screen play writer and director, Sheila Clover English, Dark Symphony’s Antoinetta - Domini Stottsberry, Shadow Game stars Jen Miller and Jay Henderson all make guest appearances in the trailer. You may also recognize Circle of Seven “Behind the Scenes” cameraman, Jacob Henderson and Feehan family members, Denise Feehan and Brian Feehan. It was so much fun to have so many people come back to participate in such a big production. It was like a family reunion! Or…a Carpathian one…like the book.
Isaac had to learn to play the guitar in less than an hour, so our band consultant, Wayne Miller, gave him a quick lesson. No, he didn’t really play, but he learned where to place his hands.
The band played a few songs to warm everyone up and it was like a great big party!
