Bryan Jenkins's Blog: Descendants and Destinies: The Curse of Ares' Belt

Some have asked if I could share a few more details on my new book, “Descendants and Destinies: The Curse of Ares’ Belt.” If I had to sum it up, I would say it is a fun adventure and mystery novel. The story is primarily set in the Amazon Jungle of Brazil, where I lived for two years. As I started writing I wanted to share some of the amazing Amazon legends I learned and describe the incredible towns and rich culture I experienced in Brazil. They are exciting legends and settings that I have not seen in other books. Taking that as the backbone, I expanded my story into a mystery and adventure contemporary fantasy work. My book shares the story of two modern day college students who are drawn to the Amazon Jungle to save the world from an ancient power rising again. It presents some mythology in a new light, adding an Amazon perspective to the traditional Greek or Roman stories, and in an exciting, modern setting. It is fun, clean, with a dash of romance, pretty exciting, and unpredictable. I hope you like it!
