Joan Aiken's classic children's novel is celebrating 50 years in print since it was first hailed as "One Genuine Small Masterpiece" by Time Magazine. Brand new editions are coming out in the UK and the USA along with the many translations still in print around the world. A special event is being held in New York to celebrate - see events listing below - and Lizza is appearing at The Cheltenham Literary Festival to read and talk about growing up with Joan Aiken and the background to the writing of this much loved book.
