RJ Cerrato was born and raised in Illinois. She has one older brother, a nephew, and two dogs. RJ first began writing at the age of 5 by cataloging in detail her daily journeys throughout her summer. In elementary, middle and high school RJ won multiple contests for her submissions of poetry, getting herself published in several poetry collections. At the age of 17, RJ published her first collection of poems entitled Hush: Her Best Kept Secrets (get it here: http://www.publishamerica.net/product... ). Then she took a hiatus from writing to pursue other academic goals. Here's an excerpt from my published poetry book. It highlights the book's balance of flow of consciousness and simple rhyming to create a melodious flow of thought. This is the poem entitled "Headphones":

pictures staring holes through me
drowning out my thoughts
