Ghosts: A Natural History: 500 Years of Searching for Proof:
"If you're looking for the dime-a-dozen, sensational "tales of the supernatural" kind of book, you won't find it here. Instead, you will find something unique and much more interesting: a natural history of ghosts.

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1):
"This was really, really not my cup of tea and I threw in the towel 2/3 of the way in. I was surprised at how disappointing it was given that I picked it up on the basis of the normally dependable Adam Roberts' recommendation in his end of year 2015 r"

| Entertaining enough for the most part, if a tad silly, but the ended just dissolved into farce and then simply ended, I suspect, because William Boyd had grow as tired of it as I. | |

“There is geometry in the humming of the strings. There is music in the spacing of the spheres. ”

“There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream, people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do.”

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

“If you knew what was going to happen, if you knew everything that was going to happen next—if you knew in advance the consequences of your own actions—you'd be doomed. You'd be ruined as God. You'd be a stone. You'd never eat or drink or laugh or get out of bed in the morning. You'd never love anyone, ever again. You'd never dare to.”

Always good to make a new friend. You're welcome to visit my lair any time, though I should warn you, it's rather a mess and the carpet is a bit sticky.
It was... (exits to check) The Universe Versus Alex Woods. Not that it matters, really. Hello anyway, always nice to meet new friends.
Your pic is familiar....I can't remember which review it was. But no matter. Always happy for more GR friends. :)
In response to a question from Shovelmonkey1 - I was comparing myself to Samuel Pepys; I too would bury my cheese to protect it, if called upon to do so. I do like cheese. I'm eating some now!
Lesa wrote: "Hey, thanks for the friend request! Have a great rest of the weekend!"Ah... Only 5 and a half hours of it left! :) Nice to meet you.
