Mothers by Cath Weeks
“Creases in the heart – that was how Helena thought of a mother’s painful experiences: tiny lines that no one could touch or smooth away. There wasn’t a power iron in the world that could obliterate them.”

Cath Weeks, Blind

“Being a good mother was all about learning how to let go...and to most mothers it was as realistic a goal as the full lotus position or world peace.”
Cath Weeks, Mothers

“Had she known where they were headed she would have tried to bottle that day – to trap it in a jar with the seawater and sand so that she could shake it on grey days; a treasured snow globe of memories.”
