Finally Finished!

My last post was several months ago wherein I vowed to complete my historical romance by August 5th. Needless to say...that didnt happen! A little thing called 'life' kept getting in the way, however, I am so happy to say that If Only In My Dreams is completed and on the editor's desk. I hope to have it available in both print and digital within the next few weeks. I love historical romance and am so excited for this new journey. Remember to look for it under my pen name...Rachel Wright!

Writer's Block or Procrastination?

Last week I wrote about self-imposed deadlines and knowing that I have a task to complete, (about 30% more to go) I find that my fingers are frozen above the keyboard. I have the picture in my mind but can't seem to make it translate to words. Also on my mind are too many other distractions! So, decision to be made...write or ponder? Answer...write! Pen (fingers in this case) will be on fire today! No more procrastination!

Self-Imposed Deadlines

Just like NYE resolutions that come and go only to return bigger and broader for the next year, self-imposed deadlines are a good way to get yourself moving or drive yourself crazy! There's no escaping the self-imposed deadline, it's always with you because you created it. It's not like a memo you get from your boss asking for a report at the end of the month, etc...it's a constant reminder. My self-imposed deadline is my next novel, due out before the end of this summer. No time to procrastinate...have to get my pen on fire!

What makes your pages turn?

For a few decades now, I have found myself drawn to just two genres...romance and mystery. Yes, some may say that is a placing a limitation on myself but I disagree. I look forward to reading a new release from one of my favorite authors like I look forward to my cup of green tea every morning...it just makes me feel good and warm inside. If I have a great book in my hand then nothing and noone, will stop me from turning those pages until I reluctantly reach the end! Tell me what makes your pages turn?
