The important thing is to get something written. Good writers are, in most cases, really good editors. Getting something 'on paper' gives you something to work with, and that's always a good start.

There's another technique, too. Shall I tell you about it?(less)

Advice for My Younger Self

I saw a question last week: “What advice would you give to your younger novelist self?” I have a couple pieces of advice, but I’ll only share one.

“Don’t worry about what someone else thinks.”
