The Memory Engine Pre-Order Now Live

I've just discovered that as it turns out, putting up the pre-order pages for the eBook versions of The Memory Engine is pretty nice, but also a little anxiety inducing. It means I have a deadline now which isn't a nice thing to have I suppose. Nevertheless, I'm sure I'll meet it. The final version of the book is pretty much finished and I'm just tidying up a few sections now as well as repeatedly reading the manuscript to remove any of the smaller errors that I might have missed before.

It's t...

'Kaleidoscope' and 'The Kinetic' Audiobooks Coming Soon

The audiobook versions of 'Kinesis' and my short story, 'Safeguard', have both been available for a while now. But recently, I decided to add a few of my other titles onto Amazon's ACX service which allows authors and voice artists to collaborate.

After receiving various auditions for both Kaleidoscope and The Kinetic, the wheels are now in motion to bring the audiobook versions of both of these shortly. Kaleidoscope will be narrated by Andonis Anthony, while The Kinetic will be narrated by Simo...

The Memory Engine - Blurb (version 1)

With the first draft of my new book, The Memory Engine, completed, I'm currently busy running through the first re-write. The re-writes and subsequent edits can be quite a long process and I'm trying to work through them as quickly as possible. But my mind has also started to drift to thoughts of other things regarding the launch in a few months. Things such as: what should the cover look like? When should I hand it over to beta-readers? And what about the blurb?
I knocked together a cover a few w...

Corona (final book of the Kinesis trilogy) first draft almost finished!

So it’s been anotherfew months and this is the firstblog post! Sorry I haven’t been updating the site quite as often as I intended when changing over to this new format, but this time Ido have a good excuse.

For the past three months I’ve been working hard on getting the first draft of Corona finished and I’m happy to say it’s very nearly there. I still have a few sections to write throughout the book, but for the most part the story is written and locked down. I’m going to go over it several...

New Website!

Hello all, and welcome to my brand new website!

First of all, sorry it has been so long since my last update. I don’t really have much of an excuse so probably won’t bother trying to think of one, but I’ll be sure to do my best to make semi-regular updates from nowon.

As you can see I’ve put together a new website and this will now act as both my primary website and blog combined in order to make things a little more simple (not to mention easier to update). The content of this site is a bit...

Fleeting Tales #29: The Great Self-Publishing Crash?

Back in 1982, video games were thriving all over the world, especially in the US. Atari were one of the biggest hitters but there were many other video game systems out there making a similar impact - Colecovision and Intellivision to name two. People couldn't get enough of these things and the companies that jumped on this demand made literally millions within just a few weeks.
Atari 2600 suffered after the 1983 crash
Then in 1983/84 (the timing isn't exactly clear) people decided to stop buyi...

Fleeting Tales #28: Competition! Kinesis audiobook release, and next project indecision.

Competition to win a copy of the Kinesis audiobook!

The audiobook version of Kinesis has finally arrived! I'm really pleased with the result and am very grateful to Zhanna Hamilton (producer) and Ben Williams (voice artist) for all the hard work they have done in getting it just right. I really hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Kinesis audiobook now available from AudibleSo, in order to spread the word about this new audiobook, I have been given a number of promotional codes from Audibl...

Fleeting Tales #27: Kinesis audiobook

I'm a big fan of audiobooks and have listened to quite a few over the past few years. I drive long distances during my day job and they're a brilliant way to pass the time and hear some great fiction.
I've been aware of Amazon's ACX (audiobook creation exchange) for a while now but only got round to looking into it a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad I did!
The idea of ACX is simple - authors upload their books and producers and voice artists submit samples of their own work which can then be br...
